So a great performance in the US, but a lackluster one in the rest of the world is enough to surpass a globally successful performance? It can't be THE comeback if you only came back in one market.

Madonna probably had the bigger era in terms of sales, etc. But Mariah's had IMPACT. It's known as her COMEBACK era and obviously the song of the decade (is Hung Up was bigger, wouldn't it be song of the decade? ) is still remembered today. Not sure how many of my friends would know Hung Up and who sings it.

You're only talking about the american market. This involves the whole world, where Madonna experienced major success and Mariah on the other hand underperformed and failed. I am sorry but your whole comment is invalid. Not to mention WBT is a non-factor everywhere but the US.

You said WBT was bigger than HU. And that only applies to the american market cause everywhere else in the world HU succeed while WBT underperformed or failed. HU holds the record for topping most charts around the world, and you expect us to believe WBT was bigger when it only topped three charts? Get real. Emancipation era is a non-factor everywhere but the US.
