Britney Spears, Madonna, and Beyonce, if you wanna talk about worldwide success.
US success, Britney, Bee, Usher, etc. etc.
Usher hasn't done **** since 2005 either so how is he included and not Britney? Uhh yea, let's think before we type people.

^Exactly. Believe it or not. It is still too early. Even though Usher had so much success he doesn't have the award on lock yet. It's going to depend on that comeback album that's the way I see it

I can't believ you're mentioning Britney in Us, especially since Blackout has been such a commercial disappointment, and I believe she has no no.1 singles in the states

Confessions went diamond. Look at the numbers on the 1st page. Usher was continous releasing singles from like 2000-2005 from U Remind Me to Caught Up

Well, Britney has sold 20 million albums in the United States since 2000, yes, including Blackout, that makes her the most successful female of the decade. She also holds the WW record.

Beyonce? Usher? Please...
Madonna, Christina, Britney or Shakira should get the title.

The quality of the comeback album you mean cause Usher is an overrated artist who will sell only due to his fanbase, which I think will drop due to his marriage and now having a child. Tom Cruise anyone?
But I'll give it to Beyonce for R&B Female (including her solo success + of course her and her backup singers)
Britney for Pop Female (cause I mean she has sold double, almost triple other pop female artists have in the last 10 years. And to me how much she has done, or how long she has had success isn't a factor. Blackout was still released, it's at 1m worldwide, she's doing something.)
For Pop male, um I could say Justin. But I'd have to think more on that. And for R&B male, Usher.
R&B Female/Male: Bee/Usher
Pop Female/Male: Britney/Justin (ironic, no? )
Like I said Britney hasn't had any initial success since 2004, Usher hasn't had any since Confessions died out early 2005, but that doesn't take away what they accomplished those first 5 or 6 years of the last decade. What they've done and accomplished is enough to give them the title together.
So I give mad props to Brit + Usher to accomplish soooooooo much in such little time that they can take 3 or 4 years off and still have nobody beat them.

Female: Britney, Christina, Avril, Beyonce & Madonna(although it sold millions, i have to say she wasn't relevant to the music industry)
Male: Justin, 50 Cent, Usher
Band: Evanescence, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Creed

I just saw the numbers for Britney's albums from 2000-2004. Just crazy but since many people when they think of Britney the first word that comes to mind is mess. Sorry but that's just the way it is now. I still think Usher will most likely get it. Not to mention if "Let's Make Love In The Club" is really a single I definitely see it dominating the Billboard Charts along with other songs he leaked. Something tells me his comeback album will be great.

But sometimes that makes me wonder what really is pop?
Because to me I see the genres this way with R&B/Soul, Hip Hop, Rock, Alternative, Heavy Metal, Jazz and Country. Pop to me means popular. So I would have to think Usher has a bigger fanbase than Justin for sure. Back then Britney had a bigger fanbase than Beyonce but now nope Beyonce is more popular. Then again pop music could mean dance music so in that case both Usher and Justin Timberlake have put out a bunch of pop hits. It's so hard for me to see Usher as a whole R&B artist to me he is definetely both pop and r&b. But was his last album fully R&B? definitely. But the way he sings and dances is he closer to Michael Jackson than JT is? Oh most definitely. The JT vs Usher argument could go on for years. I still believe though when it's all said and done Usher will have more #1 singles than Michael Jackson. He is truly an amazing artist, more than a triple threat and he's still the best dancer besides Michael Jackson. If his album and singles have the success that I think it's going to have. There is no doubt in my mind he'll have this award on lock, even though I think he is probably already the front runner.

It's called a comeback story. You might fall but you can rise again as long as you have the potential and the established name, Britney might not be at her peak right now and we all know why, but with everything that is happening in her life, she's still able to score a Top 3 hit single and get a gold album with basically doing nothing but being Britney Spears.
Usher's pre-2004 success is not even close to Britney's and his latest release was at 2004, so I don't see how you're assming that he already deserves it more than Britney considering that you don't even know how well he is going to do with his next album which I doubt will be anything near to his Confessions success. That just doesn't make sense.

I have nothing against Britney it's the critics. Both Usher and Britney are in my opinion 2 of the biggest names in this decade for artists. I'm actually amazed by her comeback too bad the critics aint though. Especially after I saw MTV name her as one of the top 10 messes of the year. I hope they'll have a better view about her pretty soon because the way I see it she is starting to get it together but slowly. Now the reason I say Usher is the artist of the decade is nothing against Britney. But the dude has had 6 #1 singles in this decade tell me what solo artist has more in this decade? Seriously you will not be able to name one. And since this is a Billboard Award and Usher has had tons of success on the Billboard Charts and has won artist of the year a couple of times and won 19 Billboard Awards the most out of any artist in our generation. He is almost just almost a lock. So that brings us back to the comeback album so I'm glad you asked me Mazen how much do I think his comeback album will sell. Well I know for a fact that his fanbase has increased since the Gene Kelly tribute performance on Movies Rock. Because there were people that weren't even big Usher fans but when they saw this performance they said they would pay more attention to him now after he gave that amazing tribute performance. Not to mention since Kanye was able to sell 957 K in one week. I think Usher could sell a million with his comeback album to me not to mention he'll definitely have a bigger comeback than Jay-Z had last year. Not to mention he hasn't lost fans he's gained fans especially with some of the songs leaked mainly "Let's Make Love In This Club" (If you don't know by now it's going to be a future #1 this song is very similar to Bed. For example if Usher sang Bed it would have went to #1). 2008 should be such an interesting year because of this.

I hate to say it but ******* Spears is the artist of this decade, her sales are incredible for someone who lacks any kind of real talent.

Well that is true her sales are incredible. However I never ever thought that she didn't have talent she does have some vocal ability. I remember that time her and Michael Jackson performed together that was impressive.

Well, most people are jealous of Hilary Duff, because she is so successful while having so little talent.
