Most of the last major stuff are being releases September/October and most the year end lists will be written by that time. Some sites post it ridiculously early. It's smarter to wait and be one of the first releases of the new year.
When did she confirm she was releasing before then? Since her interscope leave I mean.
January or February makes sense. She needs to let the hype build back and November/December releases are typically overshadowed. Releasing September/October may be jumping the gun even if we've been waiting forever. This also lets her release 2 - 3 more songs beforehand.

She just dropped a comeback single. Releasing it after that is weird. She probably wants to drop another song before it releases. Either she drops the entire album in September or she should wait. The sales will be bad regardless, but it's important she build back her image.
She's over, there's no going back. She's releasing an album with songs that were made in 2012, these songs are out-dated already. Just leak it and start recording a new album with new sounds.
Why is this giving me Angel haze release teas? Hope she opens with larger numbers because as others have said, January sales numbers are terrible and especially the first couple of weeks, like she is suggesting. Anyway, I'm glad we have a month and as other members have also said, hopefully this will give her enough time to rebuild her hype and credibility as well as releasing more material from the album.
