20. Judas - Lady Gaga
Oh, good old JUDAH-JUDAH-AH-AH. I remember when I was so hysterical in excitement that I dare claimed it was equivalent in quality as Bad Romance. The song is awesome, though, and the video does it justice. It's so fresh, and even with its flaws as a video, its interesting infusion of past and present, much like the song itself, makes it so likable. The dancing's pretty cool too, can't deny that. I've always wondered if Gaga really got swept by the wave.
19. Someone Like You - Adele
I'm a guy of simplicity, and I'm a guy of fitting videos. If both work together perfectly, then you've got yourself a good music video, and Someone Like You is no exception. The second single to the phenomenon-like act's sophomore effort is so much while trying so little, and the music video replicates that simplistic style that the song went for. Not to mention, Adele looks amazing from start to finish. Now that she's walking in her music videos, I'm shaking in my chair () in anticipation for what Adele's third single, Set Fire To The Rain, has in store for us in terms of a video.
18. Holocene - Bon Iver
Such an underrated music video, cause absolutely nobody knows about it. It's so upsetting, especially since it's nominated for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year. It reminds me so much of Thoreau's Walden in how the boy escapes reality through nature. Its lack of storyline really makes it stand out the most; it doesn't need a really obvious message to be amazing. Bon Iver's lead single's music video, Calgary, just missed the top 25.
17. Countdown - Beyoncé
You know what? This video is flat-out cool. Beyoncé as usual displays her overwhelming amount of charm with this 3:33 minute-long video of quirkiness and bizarre yet intriguing retro style. Her smile at 2:29 was so sweet too. Everything was happening in the music video. It was going at a rapid pace and Beyoncé refused to give you a moment to analyze what happened. When you hear a description of the music video and compare it to the song, you're probably left relatively baffled because it wouldn't make sense; but in all honesty, this video somehow works, and works amazingly.
16. Run The World (Girls) - Beyoncé
**** haters. This song AND music video ****. Beyoncé took a risk with both of them, and while commercially it was not overwhelmingly successful, it was awesome. It's a major feminism anthem that will likely stick over time, and let's face it: the music video is crazy. She is unapologetic, relentless, and FIERCE from beginning to end. I get a ton of ballads and slow songs on 4, I wanted a song full of energy and aggression and I got it with Run The World. This video at so many points shows her dominant status in terms of the 21st century. Its flukes are blinded by its epicness in its entirety.
I was studying for my Psych final for hours right now so now I'm ready to slay some bitches tomorrow, and I won't have too much studying for my other classes tomorrow so I think I'll be able to give you not only #15-11, but #10-7 as well!
The anticipation is killing me. What ****eries will DvnR push into the chart next?
