Why would Asians care? A basic part Hindu culture and history is sharing knowledge and customs. In the modern west-worshiping context, Indians love it when westerners like Coldplay copy them, especially a beautiful, fair and lovely superstar like Beyonce does it.
As for whether there is a valid complaint, this isn't very different from what Iggy Azalea and other white artists do with black music. Westerners love shopping for parts of other culture and renting it out until they don't need it anymore, but they don't actually care and have any knowledge or genuine interest in it. It's like when Selena Gomez released "Come & Get It" years ago and gave interviews thinking India was in the Middle East.
In any case, I don't really care and thought it was fine. At least it wasn't like the "Baby Boy" video, which was just awkward. Another ATRL member's post sums it up well:

Baby Boy doesn't even acknowledge it's South Asian origins [except maybe those cut up sari costumes they wear in the VMAs peformance] and even worse, during the video's dance break, she suddenly becomes some Mediterranean/Greek/Arab/Turkish/North African belly dancer and then immediately returns back to being South Asian again at the end of the dance break when she shakes her head with her fingers over her eyes imitating Indian Kathak dancing. The whole video is a hodge podge of cultural appropriation. If that's not an example of using something cool and different for personal gain, I don't know what is!
