I agree. She's a phenomenal performer and cultural icon but she's one of the least genuine pop stars. She decided at the beginning of her career that the only way to maintain her privacy was to fabricate her public persona and never reveal her true self. It clearly worked as her private life is far more protected than her peers.
But SELF-TITLED is her most personal piece of work yet? You clearly haven't seen Life is but a Dream
Iggy, Miley, Nicki, Justin B., 1D, Ariana, will.i.am., Pitbull, J. Lo, Justin T., Selena Gomez, Lil' Wayne, Future, Big Sean, Jay Z. Katy P. Is cutting it close these days... But I'll wait to see what she does next era.
HM: Britney but her back catalog is almost spot free so I can't chuck her completely.
That's not to say I won't listen or bop to a couple of songs by the aforementioned but I either don't like most of their music, think they're marginally talented and/or I don't buy into their personas. In other words, I'm not drinking their kool-aid.
