I don't know how things work in the USA, but in Canada and Italy this is the least cops do, even to mass murderers, i.e. that canadian arab guy who was in guantanamo is getting parole now in Canada... Now I don't deny american police's racism but this case seems minor to me... but again I don't know and I can be corrected, this was my first reaction based on softer police systems

You're wrong. I saw that page days ago. What they ruled "false" was the claim that the cops "took" him physically to Burger King. The killer being given Burger King, as the title says, is true. Snopes provided the original source as well. Cmd+F it:
