The Illuminati is a branch of Freemasonry & it still exists however it is not as "evil" as it's made out to be. I suppose there's a certain sinister aspect when you realize that every major city in the world has an obelisk, or when you begin to recognize familiar symbols being repeated - it's simply a statement of power & control, but they also do a ton of good. They shape the worlds progress, in a way. They also do a lot of charity work.
My boyfriend is a Freemason & Illuminati member - it isn't a secret society AT ALL. In fact you can go visit your nearest Masonic lodge & inform yourselves. It's simply a society with secrets. A brotherhood of powerful, influential & knowledgeable men. They aren't devil worshippers, in fact - you MUST follow one of the 3 major Abrahamic religions or believe in God in some shape or form in order to join.
The artists that people speak of aren't actually part of the Illuminati - but they recognize who pulls the strings behind the industry - so the more they play their part in promoting new-age ideas & agendas, the more success they experience. Madonna. Gaga. Bowie. No artist has gotten to where they are today on talent alone.
