If MTN doesn't do anything, I will be more than happy to move on from this era, but it's ridiculous that people are complaining about the US performance when there has been no promo or a video.

Yes, but it's simply their prerogative, as is you and many others staying hopeful. There's no need to melt down over what someone else is thinking.

Well she had to release the most boring song of her career.

It hasn't even had a proper performance in the USA.
And I'm getting troll teas with some posts.

Oh ... you were being serious?
It's like you want GaGa to fail with the BTW era. Maybe you should develop a time machine and relive 2008/2009?

I'm not having a melt down because I, too, feel pessimistic about MTN, but for an actual reason and not some "radio's not playing it and no one likes it" bullcrap.

I can't believe Gaga jinxed herself by calling Born 'the album of the generation,' a claim that was disputed in nearly all of its reviews. Add her mediocre singles and it just even more sabotage! Unless Gaga does something of epic proportions, then I am almost certain that her next album will put this one under the rug
I love Born This Way though, I just felt like Gaga was more aware of the social media during The Fame/The Fame Monster. I feel like she was a lot smarter too with a general sense that made her work look effortless, while simultaneously proving that she was a hard worker. Unfortunately, her try hard attitude is ruining what could be a flawless era.

No, this album is much better than TFM. But her choices are not good.

People don't seem to get that she was being hyperbolic when she said that. She was at The Monster Ball and was trying to hype the album for her fans.

If BTW doesn't grab an AOTY nom, I will probably stay out of this thread for a good solid month because the meltdowns will be too much for me.

She meant it for her fans, but that is still a loaded statement. Don't hype something you can't deliver. The album is solid, IMO, but the era itself is spewing out forgettable singles and videos. Born This Way has had tremendous impact though.
But I do think Marry the Night is the start of a new era. That is why I wouldn't put it down so quickly.

And I agree that #78 isn't so bad right now. Marry the Night is really just starting, and Gaga has only performed it live once so far. Upcoming performances and the music video should push it higher. If not, then we can panic and anticipate the cancellation of the BTW Ball and the release of her new single off her new album.
|
Well we know that when Gaga promotes, we see good results from it so I think that we should just let her perform it a few more times, release the video and hopefully radio picks up. The whole autobiographical concept of the video may work in favour for it. It will likely receive a lot of media attention, especially if it is controversial in any way. More attention, the better for MTN.

Yeah... the next couple of days will either do wonders or cause everyone to go berserk.
If MTN doesn't go top 10 I'm going to ****ing blame radio. The fact that it has been #1 on a countdown for 20 days and they barely spin it is just a load of ********.

And yes, that is my point. This is terrible but it's true: This era is forgetable.

Some of you are really a mess.
Bitchy, ungrateful and undeserving. Do you realize you stan for the most hard-working popstar on the planet? Which other superstar works so hard writing music, producing, playing, directing videos, promoting non-stop for months basically without repeating the same performance twice, always being nice to her fans and millions of other thing you daily watch ěher doing. She does the music she wants hoping her fans would love it, sells millions of albums, get top10 hits, breaks records, sweeps award shows and you still find a way to complain?
I would love her songs to be played more on radios, or to shoot to the top of the charts faster, too. But if I were a stan for those reasons, I would have jumped ship months ago. Popstars who instantly get to the top of radios and iTunes are currently available (too bad their album sales rarely live up to it). I'd honestly rather see Gaga doing amazing doing the music she wants than doing super amazing being a complete sellout.

Okay, back to the delusion. This era will be one of her most memorable simply because of how everything has been panning out. We will all look back on this time and have a good laugh at how crazy we acted. This era is the beginning of something amazing. With TF and TFM, she learned what she had to do, with BTW, she learned what she couldn't do, so the next era, because of this era, is going to be spectacular.
