Well what would you have released as the lead single? It mustn't necessarily be the BEST song, it has to be the song that best represents the album. I think HIAM did that.

HIAM is great, but I agree that TTWE is too generic for Britney. It's certainly not the best.

It's just so nostalgic. It manages to be a ballad and a dance track at the same time, and the lyrics are very poignant.
It's very good, and stands out. I can see why they released it as the lead single.
