Mit der neuen Platte "Honeymoon" bleibt Lana del Rey - gut zwölf Monate nach "Ultraviolence" - ihrer Aura der stetigen Kreativarbeiterin treu. "Der Anfangspunkt des Albums war das Ende der letzten Studiotermine", erzählt Del Rey in einem Interview mit dem BBC-Moderator und –DJ Zane Lowe. "Komischerweise war ich damals überhaupt nicht müde oder ausgelaugt. Im Gegenteil. Ich war voller Inspiration - und wollte ich direkt weitermachen".
Das Ergebnis dieses Powerplays sind die zwölf Songs auf "Honeymoon", die sie geschrieben und an der Seite von Studiopartner Rick Nowels auch mit-produziert hat. Eine musikalische Fortführung ihres ganz speziellen musikalischen Oeuvres, das sich mit "melancholisch", "music noir" oder "Self Styled Gangsta Nancy Sinatra" (TIME Magazine) nur unzureichend beschreiben lässt. Als meistgestreamte weibliche Musikerin auf dem Musikplattform Spotify und mit youtube-Abrufen im dreistelligen Millionenbereich ist Lana Del Rey bereits jetzt die charismatischste (und erfolgreichste) Künstlerin des Social-Media-Zeitalters.
Bereits das Video zur aktuellen Single-Auskopplung "High By The Beach" ist ein starkes, multimediales Statement. "The Andrews Sisters treffen auf Ludacris", umreißt BBC-Radiomann Zane Lone die Musik. Im Clip feuert Del Ray mit einem monströsen Maschinengewehr auf einen Helikopter, der im azurblauen Himmel über dem Ozean kreist. Was optisch und musikalisch so sphärisch-sanft beginnt, endet wie im Action-Comic: Lana wehrt sich gegen die sprichwörtlichen Paparazzis im Hubschrauber, die keine Privatsphäre akzeptieren wollen. Eine Sequenz, die als Allegorie für die Schattenseiten des internationalen Superstardoms gesehen werden kann. In den Texten ihres dritten Albums taucht dieses Motiv wiederholt auf. Ganz Amerika ist verblüfft, wie ein Kind der Eastcoast (und des Wintersport-Ortes Lake Placid) die musikalische und atmosphärische Aura der Westcaost für die Jetztzeit definiert. Von der barocken Psychedelia- Band Love über Fleetwood Mac bis heute – Lana arbeitet sich mit Leidenschaft an dem "Light"- und "Noir"-Motiv ihrer Wahlheimat ab.
Ihr Faible für hintergründige Titel äußert sich auf "Honeymoon" im Song "Music To Watch Boys" – ein ätherisches Stimmungsbild über den weiblichen Voyeurismus. Die Luft flimmert, die Mädels schauen. In "Art Deco", wo verhaltene Querflöten-Töne über einen Downbeat huschen, beschreibt sie ihren Gegenüber mit "You're so Art Deco". Man darf annehmen, dass diese Aussage schon bald zu einem geflügelten Wort nicht nur in der Popszene werden wird. Ausgehend von den Singles "Honeymoon" und "High By The Beach" verfeinert Lana Del Rey ihren Entwurf von Popmusik, der filigran Elemente von Jazz, HipHop und Torch-Songs verknüpft.
Fast schon Sirenen-haft wirkt sie in "Religion". Zu "Soft Ice Cream" unternimmt Del Rey einen Ausflug ins Little Italy der Vierziger; eine dahingetupfte Anmutung aus dem Mafia-Millieu. "Ciao, Amore" heißt es leise. Ihr gelingt es sogar, dem millionfach gespielten Latin-Party-Klassiker von Santa Esmeralda "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" von 1977 eine besinnlich-nachdenkliche Note einzuhauchen. Die Königin der Langsamkeit hat sich wieder einmal selbst übertroffen.
Die Produktion vordergründer Hits ist nicht die Sache von Lana Del Rey. Sie definiert mit dem fiebrig-flirrenden Sound auf "Honeymoon" weiterhin neue Hörgewohnheiten. "Ich habe ein anspruchsvolles Ohr im Hinblick auf meine eigene Ästhetik - und was ich selbst so hören möchte", beschreibt sie im BBC-Radiogespräch ihren Produktions- und Auswahlprozess. Hieraus schöpft sie nicht zuletzt ihre Magie. Eine akribisch arbeitende Künstlerin mit einer eindrucksvollen weltweiten Resonanz: "High By The Beach" stieg gleich nach Veröffentlichung auf den siebten Rang der amerikanischen Billboard Charts, nachdem die Single schon in 21 Ländern, darunter die USA, Schweden und Brasilien, Platz Eins der iTunes-Charts erstürmen konnte. Die Ouvertüre zu "Honeymoon" klingt schon mal vielversprechend. Der Hauptteil wird ab dem 18. September 2015 noch für einige Erschütterungen sorgen.

I kind of feel the same way. I mean, I'm way excited for it, but usually I am *anything* but calm when something leaks. I think maybe it's because this era is really moving and we've already gotten a lot of songs in a short amount of time?

The only information from interest in there is their description of Religion. She's mentioning 'soft ice cream' and she's whispering 'ciao, amore'. Its sound is pictured as a trip to the Italy of the fourties.

It mostly describes the HBTB video and recording of it and how UV led into honeymoon a bit. I'm not sure what it's saying about religion my German isn't amazing

Also it says how there are many elements and a contrast between the Jazz/hip hop style that is on the album

Not in the mood to write down everything but here is the important stuff:

-She started working on the album just when she was done recording UV cause she felt full of inspiration
- praise for her streaming power and unique style
