Hmmmm don't know if I would say Game of Thrones will be as big as Star Wars or Trek. Both those defy generations and have consistently found success with every generation. We will have to see if it will be all-encompassing like those brands or a generational fad like Harry Potter.

It wasn't released outside the US. XO was the international song and an R&B song being a hit in somewhere like Germany is extremely hard to do. I'm impressed it was able to go top 10 in the UK without any promotion there or release.

I see more talk of Game of Thrones than I did of Lord of the Rings (the acting is much better too). I don't think Game of Thrones will ever have that defining and clean sweep that the Academy gave Return of the King though. It's a toss up. I'd much rather watch Game of Thrones though.
