I read at Mjsbigblog that apparently next week's theme on American Idol will be “Previous Winners’ Performance Catalog”.

Meaning the songs that the winners sang during their seasons, excluding Coronation Songs. Lets see if someone will try that whistle note or "Stuff Like That There" lol

I was wondering.... How many more seasons do y'all think American Idol will last? I'm thinking the end for the show is near. People only watch the auditions and don't give a rats ass after that. And the show is only making country stars now. I always imagined that Idol could bring back the most succesfull Idols (Kelly, Carrie, Daughtry & ???) as judges for the final season. It would be very fitting to be honest.

No they aren't. There's only been two country winners in the show's history and one of them was 8 years ago. And there wasn't any country singers last year.

I honestly think there will be at least 2 more seasons. Kelly would be an amazing judge. She claims she doesn't like to judge and reject people, but she can be tough. She was tough on Jordyn and Jason on Duets and she made them better. She needs to do it

She did Duets because she actually mentored them and it was hands on. The judges on American Idol aren't allowed to talk too much to the contestants behind the scenes, because they don't want favoritism.

Idol is flopping because they aren't producing stars because they're allowing flop men to win. They need a girl to win. Nobody cares about men tbh. Just look at ATRL. Who stans for men? Like 5% of people.

That's not to say that any girl would be successful. Obviously not. But they have a better chance IMO.

I'm almost positive Idol has asked her to be a judge already. When she joined Duets, I remember her saying she's gotten offers to judge pretty much every singing show.

I can see her doing it if she has a kid or something. It's an easy job and won't have to travel so much. I have always thought it'd be the perfect ending for her to judge the last season. It started with her and it'd be perfect to end with her.

On second thought, last season of Idol should bring back Paula, Randy, and Simon, lol. And a different winner each week as a guest judge/mentor.

I don't get why they never asked her to come back as like a guest mentor at least She did it for Canadian Idol and I think for Australian Idol too. I doubt she would want to be a permanent judge though.

I expect Idol to last at least two more seasons, maybe the 15th will be the last one... As much as the ratings have fallen it is still Fox's number 1 show. But I don't think there is any hope in saving it. There are simply too many other shows competing with it now and people are getting tired of the genre.

I don't think the Voice has ever asked her to be a coach because I remember an interview before Duets that she wouldn't want to be a judge but a coach on the Voice. I wouldn't mind her being on there either!

I hope when Kelly is older (40+), she'll accept a judging role on a singing talent show whether it's Idol or whatever's new and hot by then.

It's a little premature now and she still has a career to run while she's pretty and young . It'll look much more respectable and impressive when she's old and doesn't have a lot going on with her life. I can't wait when people will finally see the legacy she attained as a first talent show pop star.
