Nothing sounded like a number 1 hit. It all sounded like tired, uninspired, album filler. And people wanting LL, when that too doesn't sound like a hit.

i agree. there are a few songs left that are catchy, but catchy does not equal a hit. i finally listened to legendary lovers and while i see its appeal i don't think it grabs you enough to be an actual hit.

roar and dark horse made me want to listen to them over and over again. i don't feel that way about any of the other songs on prism. tihwd is extremely catchy but is so so bad. even if it managed to be a hit, tihwd would damage her reputation in the long-run. it's not worth it.

This is really beautiful. It's interesting how vastly different the reviews are when the critic is well-read and can pick up the references sprinkled throughout her music. It also makes me wonder if many of the critics who slam her don't really have an appreciation for the past like she does.
