Drag queens are fun. I know a few too many stupid men that do drag to "feel fierce!" though which is kiinda sad. I used to **** this one man I didn't even know did drag (although it does not come as a shock).

It's fun to watch them and see them get they life.

I just don't care to watch a TV show dedicated to it.

Although the whole "Monday drag race nights" thing seems fun, I'd do it if my gay friends cared.

That's true tbh, I've noticed it as well. A lot of drag queens put on this very vain, haughty, 'bitchy' persona that does seem to arise from stereotypes.

I think it was originally a way for gay men to be feminine without having to be seen that way in "real life", but I think it has turned into that.

If we're talking reality shows, Drag Race is kinda objectively one of the better ones. It may perpetuate some stereotypes, but everyone knows a gay man that doesn't act like that. In the process of being a show people watch, it pushes the conversation about gender fluidity and the acceptance of it, breaks boundaries about sexuality and makes straight men uncomfortable. What could be better?

Because, the capacity for something like Drag Race to BE a political statement is what makes it worthwhile and not just formulaic, magazine'd, Americanized, microwave'd, etc. This kind of reality TV is making huge strides when sat next to, say, the Kardashians, which somehow have created a dynasty off of all things trivial (hey, good for them, but).
