Why do you guys think it's a mistake to not put 25 on streaming?

Yeah her album cuts will not that debut that high, but it's still a somewhat valid (although unproven) theory that album sales are less when you put your album up for streaming. I understand the decision.

I don't think Adele is screwing up. The label needs money. A good song will be streamed more, a bad song less. Hello is already going on 2 on streaming. I think they prefer people buying whole album whether they like it fully or not. A sale is a sale. Streaming is all about merit. A crap song will not be repeatedly streamed. This is the major disadvantage of streaming. And so they earn less money that way. At the end of the day it's all about cash

In fact I think prominent singers should release only their singles for streaming as it influences charts. If someone is really interested in listening to whole album they should go and buy it. After all artist has every right to earn more.

As I've said in different threads about this, very few people who rely on streaming as their main source for music consumption will now buy the album because it's not on streaming services - they'll just illegally download the album instead. So in order to try to get more money than streaming services offer, she may end up with LESS money due to the increase in illegal downloads. Stupid decision.

To earn an equivalent of 11 dollars ie the cost of 1 digital album, a person has to stream 1300 times on Spotify. Can this happen? No. But if a person buys an album, all that is earned in bulk.

Oh well, I hope her label puts "25" on Spotify/AM soon, tho. If not, then it's all about the money. Right now I'm just thinking this is perfect timing to break the mega-record for best selling album in the debut week ever, which is pretty understandable

It will certainly be available shortly after the hype dies a little bit. She's a streaming force that is needed on the charts now a days. Hello was made available so obviously her other singles will too. I'm sure

We just don't know if it's flawed or not.
A lot of people say it does, a lot of people say it doesn't and we'll probably never know as every artist, even every album is different and there are so many factors going into album sales that it's nearly impossible to determine.

I personally think we need a large-scale survey on the topic. Don't know who would want to coordinate that, though.

Based on Hello, though, one would predict Adele's sales to be relatively unaffected by her music's presence on streaming services.

The goal isn't more money. The goal is the NSYNC record. They think that by keeping it off streaming, they'll get more legal sales. There's no evidence to prove them right.
