I actually had a conversation with a co-worker today about the major generational divide over the perception of MJ. Pretty much everyone under the age of 25 today sees him as a child molester first and foremost.
Yeah, it's so sad because before he died people in school joked about him being a pedophile all the time. Most kids did foremost know him as the pedophile who liked kids.
Then when school started back after his death suddenly everyone was singing his songs and knew all about him.

Sure cause MJ wasn't seen as a ****ING joke before he died. Just stfu plz
No, his classics were still being played everywhere unlike Madonna's and Thriller was already a Halloween staple. He also sold out a 50 date tour in seconds
Many people under 25 still jam to Thriller, Beat It, Bad and don't feel ashamed, unlike the few gays who still listen to Madonna who have to hide it so they don't get smacked
This won't ever happen . MJ is respected and seen as a talented genius, especially after his death, Madonna is seen as a joke even tho we homossexuals know she is very talented and deserves more but other people just look at her as a old lucky woman who managed to stay relevant whitout knowing how to sing, maybe it's the patriarchal society but she won't ever be seen as the same level as MJ
It's funny because she has a much better discog than him and cared way more about her career and maintaining fans after the '90s. At least she will die knowing she worked hard for her legacy her whole life while MJ died lonely, drugged and in debt. (Love him.)
I was asleep when Michael died. My dad came back from the store and woke me up told me and I remember saying "NO WAY."
It was eerie to me, because there was this commercial with "I'll Be There" that played all the time the month he passed.
