MJ is respected and seen as a talented genius, especially after his death, Madonna is seen as a joke even tho we homossexuals know she is very talented and deserves more but other people just look at her as a old lucky woman who managed to stay relevant whitout knowing how to sing, maybe it's the patriarchal society but she won't ever be seen as the same level as MJ
