It always shocks me that people blame Nader for that loss when Gore himself was just as responsible. Bill had like a 69% approval rating and most people didn't give a **** about his scandals yet he basically ran away from his administration.
To this day I wonder how our country would have went if Gore won and embraced Bill more. The economy still would have declined (it was always does at some point) but it probably would have been easily fixed. Not to mention Iraq would have never happened.... let me not. It's so depressing thinking about it.
I hate ideological purists like Gore. We're all human. You don't have to refuse help (Gore) or campaign against (Nader) someone because they aren't completely what you think they should be.
No new poll released, but apparently it's so bad that the Utah Republican chairman had to meet with him to come up with a plan. What would've been an easy win for any other Republican is not the case for Trump. He has to actually spend money and time there.

So aside from the usual swing states This time we have Arizona, Utah, Louisiana possibly in the purple section? Did I forget anyone?
We don't have Louisiana. It'll stay red, the last poll showed her getting murdered there. The other ones yes, also throw in Maine (2nd congressional district) as purple as well
Florida's so desperate not to lose a Senate seat that they begged Rubio to join and even had the person running withdraw themselves so Marco could go after he changed his mind and decided to run. The deadline was next week to register so once again Marco does something last minute Get ready for more Senate meetings missing Marco in attendance

Oh yes, Gore is just as guilty (and more) as Nader. The blame goes to Nader because of how close it was. His votes would have made the difference. But Gore decided he was not going to embrace one of the most beloved outgoing Presidents in history, put an utter hack (and eventual traitor/racist to the Dem party) in Joe Lieberman as his Vice President, and used the perineal failure of a campaigner known as Tad Devine. He should have never allowed himself to do things that stupidly and make it be that close in the first place.
Al Gore might be more pressed than Bernie Sanders.
Not letting the most popular Democratic president at the time campaign for you because his wife was basically VP and his sex scandals. Really? We probably would've never had Bush. But oh well, we did and now we have Obama, Hillary, and the progressive wing of Warren and Sanders bringing real change for once.
We probably wouldn't have had 9/11.. it makes you wonder where we would be as a country today if that happened. 9/11 was, after all, the biggest cultural shift of anything post 2000s. Which would mean no war fueled on vengeance of the past (Iraq). Ugh. It's sad to think about. But then, we also likely would not have had Obama and would have had to wait even longer for things like gay marriage to pass.
It's always been hard to get more than two terms so if things had gone the Democrats' way in 2000 then in 2004 or in 2008 the GOP would've gotten control and without Obama's Sotomayor and Kagan we wouldn't have many of the liberal decisions we have today like marriage. If only the Democrats had been in control all these years Then we wouldn't have a "but if things happened this way etc".
Did we already post about who Trump was vetting for his potential VP? The article I read said that he was considering Christie, Newt, and Sessions. C'mon Trump. Pick Newt, make the most toxic and misogynistic ticket in modern American history.
