Earlier this evening you all met with the judges and we evaluated your entries... HERE
Now it's time to see who is going home!!
6 members stand before me, but only 5 will continue on to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member.
The first member I call has been deemed best of the week and will have their name displayed in my signature until the next judging...
The best entry is...
1) DANCEHALL
AVERAGE JUDGE RANK:
2.6
TOTAL JUDGE SCORE:
43.8
AVERAGE CONTESTANT RANK:
2.33
I will say while reading your entry, which was very good, one of the best I thought and most of the judges agreed, that it seemed a bit extra with the quotes that were already in your paragraphs. For me it took the quality down a bit. However, you are back on top and continuing to fight!
Go Sees Update: Retro/Doc/Phoenetic: ALL said you had top member potential
Congratulations, you are still in the running to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member!
Oh, and if Edge is still willing, you'll be getting ATRL+.
2) LATCH
AVERAGE JUDGE RANK:
2.6
TOTAL JUDGE SCORE:
40.65
AVERAGE CONTESTANT RANK:
3.75
Your entry was actually my favorite. I found personality in the wording and the connection you were trying to get with your songs. I also appreciated the wide range of music taste, which sadly has become a rarity on ATRL.

3) HUGAMARI

AVERAGE CONTESTANT RANK:

This felt like the first time I actually really got to see the true you. Behind all these masks of humor and what not, this felt truly you. I appreciated the openness of it all.

4) MMMINAJ
AVERAGE JUDGE RANK:

AVERAGE CONTESTANT RANK:

It was nice, but I wanted more life connection to it. You would briefly begin to talk about it and then I was left just wanting a bit more. It was still good though
Go Sees Update: Retro/Doc/Phoenetic: None said you had top member potential
Congratulations, you are still in the running to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member!
Will Mimi and Sam Jay please step forward.
I only have one name typed out in the Burr font below and that person will be moving on to becoming ATRL's Next Top Member.
MiMi --- Your up and down roller coaster placement happens again. You have so much potential and so much going for you that I find it frustration when it is something like this, not turning in an entry, happens. You did ask for an extension, I'll give a little benefit of the doubt, but you never gave an actual reason why. When most had asked, they gave an extension why like work or school. You didn't even fight to even give a reason when I said I wouldn't which led me to believe that you just needed one because you waited until the last minute. You then PMed me your entry and posted your entry in the thread hoping we would have mercy and judge it. I didn't even look at it, but other judges had. Some actually did like it and you most likely would have done well. I told them to ignore it because it wouldn't be fair for you to be judged for a two day late entry when judging was already two days in. With all this said and done, with this kind of situation anyone would be gone, but you have had a STRONG run in this competition that us judges had to take into consideration.
Sam Jay --- Your first time in the bottom two and for it to be happening so far in to the competition can be really nerve wracking. Believe me, been there, done that, read the book, and own the t-shirt. For me while reading your entry it seemed more about the music. I know that sentence seems kind of odd, but what I mean it was more about the actual music than that connection. You said in your PM with your ranks that you judged based on how they did and if it looked like they looked at the previous cycle's and tried to recycle it. While I commend that way of thinking, but there was a reason some of those entries were some of the best and why they were well liked by the judges. One of the entries in ANTM history that I still remember is Ammer's Music challenge. It was LONG AS HELL, but the personal connection/story to the songs made it amazing!
So who stays?
5) SAM JAY

AVERAGE CONTESTANT RANK:

Ultimately the judges have come to a CLOSE conclusion that you should move on instead of Mimi. You have had some decent entries and a few strong entries. Let's see that fire back for the next challenge.

I will personally admit, I would have wanted you to move on despite this. But yet, I'll be personally honest, I'm not all that upset either. That's not how I want to feel when someone gets eliminated. You were a strong contestant and obviously have a name on this forum, so you have that top member in you. For this purpose of this game, it seemed there had been this disconnect. Based on personal bias from the judges, you were ranked mid range. Had you actually turned something in on time, I wouldn't have a doubt that at least one of them would have said you had top member potential. You'll be doing things outside of this competition, just keep it cool... you do get banned quite a bit when you decide to be messy.
There would have been 5 guest judges, but I ended up receiving from three out of four I had yeses from. I got too busy to find a fifth.
The five guest judges would have solely eliminated someone based on their ranks and scores and then us judges would have eliminated someone based on the music taste.
ATRL's Next Top Member Cycle 11 | EP9: Build-a-Challenge
EPISODE 9
BUILD-A-CHALLENGE: Sometimes being a top member, it requires you to be creative. From as simple as making a game, a rate, a thread, to being able to shade without any one knowing. You have to have that creative aspect about you. This challenge you are to, simply, build a challenge. Put yourself in my Size 15 shoes, and make a challenge that will test a certain aspect or aspects about you as a member! I may choose the best one to be an actual challenge!
I would like your entries into me by

@ 9 P.M. US Central Time
44 hours and 54 minutes from this post!
I didn't expect top call out his week even though it was one of the hardest submissions for me to make (not only because of the sharing part, but also because it was my finals week) and I put in a lot of effort on it, so thank you judges and Matty for keeping me around last week.

How did Huga not win this challenge? His entry slayed so hard!
MiMi, I'm really sorry to see you go. You've been a standout contestant all season long and this is not the way you should have been eliminated. I was actually hoping you would stay and fight on, but it seems missing the double challenge was simply too much to overcome.
Oh my goodness. I read this at school on my phone so it legitimately took me three minutes to scroll to the bottom of the page (as I was doing it kind of slowly anyways, expecting to see my name last)... my heart was almost pounding out of my chest. I felt like I was going to be sick. And then I finally got there, and to see my name in fifth... I have no other words. Obviously it's sad to see MiMi go, as it would have been with anyone, but thank you judges for keeping me around. I can't say that I'm surprised that I was in the bottom, as soon as I saw the other entries I knew it was coming. I have no idea how I managed to get the highest contestant average, though.
I actually did have my exit speech planned, as I was almost certain of my elimination, but instead of posting that, I decided to write a quick little final five speech instead. Obviously not everyone has to read it, but I thought it would be nice...

To the judges, contestants and casual onlookers, both past and present, of ATRL's Next Top Member Cycle 11,
I somehow find myself here in the Top 5, surrounded by some of the most entertaining, unique and most of all inspiring members that I've had the pleasure of meeting on this forum. Coming into this tournament I had absolutely no real idea of what I was getting myself into, not being familiar with the Games section of ATRL whatsoever. What I'm now going to walk away with, no matter whether I place 5th or 1st, is a real understanding of what it means to be a part of something special.
Coming into this tournament I didn't really know anyone very well, either on the judging panel or the other contestants. Throughout the contest however, I feel that I've made connections with some that will carry on long after Cycle 11 comes to an end. It's so much more than just the end of the tunnel for me, it's the journey through it, and what's on the other side once I’m out that's really made me thankful for signing up that day.
I've had some high points, and I've certainly had some low points, but I feel that this has certainly helped me to get where I am today, not just in the contest, but in all aspects of ATRL. I'm well aware that nobody truly expects me to take this thing out, or perhaps even end up in the Top 3. According to my Go Sees, I haven't demonstrated my capability to be a top member. I must admit, I was disappointed with that. Actually, not disappointed, hurt. But it by no means that it has to be that way. I'm well aware that if it wasn't for Jax's premature departure and MiMi's late submission that I would definitely not be here right now, and I'm well aware that some of you probably feel upset because of that.
But this letter isn't meant to be a sob story. This letter isn't meant to be a "woe is me, I shouldn't be here and everyone knows it," deal. I'll revisit something I said in my application,
"I have drive, I have character, and most of all, I have a desire to succeed. I don't want to come into this thinking, "Well there's always next time," because just as you start to create a safety net for yourself to fall back on is exactly when you're opening yourself up to failure. I'm not coming into this for a "thanks, but no thanks". I'm going to give it everything I've got. And that, I believe, is why I am ATRL's Next Top Member."
While I have changed a lot thanks to this experience, this mentality has not changed. I'm not going to give up just because nobody believes I can do it. I'm not going to give up just because I don't have the best track record, the most top callouts, or the most friends in the game. I’m not going to give up when MiMi, Jax and countless others have displayed qualities of being a top member and left, yet I’m still here. I’m going to give my all to this next challenge, as I'm sure the other four remaining contestants will also. Although I’ve enjoyed my experience thus far, I’m not ready for it to end just yet. I’m not here for fifth place. Congratulations to you all, I wish you all the best.
Thank you for your feedback, judges!
It was kinda hard to pick a top 5 songs for this competition,
especially five that I could really talk about and that represent me
MiMi, sis
It's not gonna be the same around here with you gone
Me getting the PM for the next challenge ruined the possible surprise of me staying in
Also, I predicted Dancehall's win from the challenge announcement. My power.
All I can say is...I didn't plan on making it this far. Now I am the only person left who isn't all that great at formatting...I fear my time will come to a close soon, which is just as well. Y'all are all great contestants.
(5th isn't all that bad of a placement, either. Improvement from Cycle 8's 10th)
Y'all are a mess, writing these long-ass exit speeches every round.
It wasn't an exit speech. It's fine though, I didn't think anyone would actually read it anyway.
...
I had some time and caught some inspiration so I just smashed it out, as I'm going to be busy with study for the rest of the week. Once again, I'm pretty happy with my entry, but then again, I was last week... I guess only time will tell.
