And Rihanna's runs and riffs were flat because her voice was flat. Doesn't change the fact that she used that flat voice a lot better than she does her current one. And Mariah and Whitney were doing far more with their voices before her age so what is the basis for comparison? Especially considering she still does a lot of lazy and flat singing?
Second of all, does she even do runs or riffs now? She barely even ad-libs, so what is even up for discussion here?
And let's for the sake of argument, say you're right. Is learning "to stay in key, beat, and on pitch" supposed to now be a gargantuan achievement?
There is no argument to be had here.

Rihanna could have never sang The Monster, LTWYL, CKB, or CCL in 2005-2007. She struggled with her songs more then than she does now.
Rihanna's vibrato is more stable, natural sounding and less animal like and more musical. Her head voice is sharper and more developed, and she actually doesn't rely on pure falsetto like she did in the past (She never could've hit a D6 like in The Monster in 2005).
It's not an achievement but it is a testament to how far she's come which was what my post was about to begin with.
There's no argument but you stay quoting me and disagreeing with anything I've said about Rihanna tho.
