Was reading through the KCE and MissedTheTrain posted an excerpt from the book I haven't read. This infuriates me to no end.

Also, for the MD part, he says how Kelly and Kwatinetz started a media campaign where they were pitting her against the label or something like that. He fails to mention that his actions were the thing that leaked and started the buzz that there was an argument. Kelly tried to even play off people asking her about it for a while, and she finally ended up revealing it.

He makes Kelly sound like some self-centered bitch which she is the complete opposite of. I cannot at how he can take credit for BTHE. It's Kelly's song, she wrote it and came up with it. What a bastard.

I know! She was in Columbus, Ohio on Monday. There's several Civil War sites there too.
Hmmm... I would think maybe she's scouting places? But that's typically the job for the director and his production team to scout places before they start shooting.

They better not skimp out on the music video. Unfortunately, they probably will. If it were a perfect world, I think that the video would start out with Kelly making a huge speech in front of a crowd of prisoners (not real prisoners, but average people) and the guards being the media or oppressors. Once the first verse kicks in, there's a flashback to Kelly in a courtroom with her being found guilty of something (like speaking her mind... not an actual crime) and taken away in cuffs. Once the chorus comes along, she should be walking down the hallways to the prison looking at all the misfits in their cells with their crimes above their cell doors (like "gay," "ugly," "weird," etc.). This interaction with other people would continue through the second verse until the second chorus where Kelly is handcuffed to a chair in her cell. During bridge, she breaks out of the chair and runs to the prison courtyard. She does her speech and starts a prison riot, and the misfits all escape while the social pressures (guards) are locked in the prison. The music video ends with Kelly and a strong facial expression looking at the camera with a huge crowd of misfits behind her at dusk.

Basically Clive wants her to say, "Thank you Clive for creating me"

After reading some of the stuff that's been posted, sounds like he wants to take credit for her going a more pop/rock sound. Hmm is that why he wanted Kelly to be a Mariah/Whitney/Celine.... you know since they're so pop rock He wanted "Some Kind of Miracle" to be her first single. "Miss Independent" was released because it tested really well, so they went with it.


Blast from the past... the Behind the Scenes of the BTHE Video. In the beginning she talks about how she and Luke rewrote the song (@1:00) and then Joseph talks about how the video was Kelly's concept and how it was "controversial" (@1:35) The whole thing is fun to look back on.

If I am to be completely honest here, I've done four Kelly videos, and it seems like I win an edit battle only every other one. When I delivered "Behind These Hazel Eyes" the video commissioner (who no longer works there) wanted to completely re-edit it, but I won that battle. He was slinging scary words like "only wanted to change structure" or only "30% of the edit." He didn't even want to do Kelly's idea in the first place, so he just didn't get it.

Since Clive was the "mastermind" of Kelly's more pop/rock success then why was the label giving Kelly a hard time with changing her image to fit that sound?

I'm so excited about PLU mv. Maybe too much, I don't want to be dissapointed the way I was with DS and especially CMB mvs.

My concept for the video would be quite similar to mv of Some Night by fun. Something like Kelly being a general and encouraging soldiers to go to the war and blah blah blah... But the idea of filming in a cemetery.
