I wonder if they'll be using SD cards (or w/e) instead of Blu-Rays since they can hold more storage anyway (which would make DLC interesting, since they could just store it on the card instead of the console possibly)

Backwards compatibility seems to be getting sacrificed lately.
We're probably lucky Nintendo made it happen as many times as they did.
Irrelevant to Nintendo, but it really pissed me off when I found out the PS4 wouldn't play PS3 games as I had yet to buy one but knew I would be purchasing a PS4 eventually for Kingdom Hearts 3. So I feel your dissatisfaction.

I'll wait a year or two before buying the NX. I'm not wasting another 250+ on a console that may not even be supported. I already made that mistake with the 3DS and the Wii U and to a lesser extent the PS4.

If it did use SD Cards, it would rival the original Wii in terms of how easy it is to mod / hack.
