Yeah twitter's calling you a hater if you don't believe she hit it live but come on, yesterday she was waiting for playback to kick in and cover her not doing it and DIDN'T so it was just silent, then tonight the note comes out but it totally had a different sound than her live vocals in the mic.

It sounded completely different to in the studio version... pretty sure it was live.

The only two words I think are lipped are the "Thiiiis hiiigh". The ony difference is it sounds like they slightly shortened the "hiiigh" in the studio version to use for playback. But all the real rawness that was in her voice two seconds before disappears and the vocal ceases to match the acoustics of that stage.

Normani's note was definitely completely different to the studio version. In the studio version she begins the note on a D# whereas in this performance she started on a C# and then went up to a D#. The note also sounds much fuller and less processed than in the studio version. Of course it would sound different to the previous notes since the previous notes were in head voice while the "this high" part was belted.

I saw that you mentioned that this took three days for this to come together. Is that true?
Yeah. We literally had three and half days, and the half day was literally us running the show. The girls, they're at such a big point in their career that they have no time. They just finished the South America leg of the tour, and we had no time to rehearse this tour, so myself and the creative team had to do a lot of pre-planning before we started. When the girls got to rehearsal in Pennsylvania, I had to teach them three or four routines a day. So, they're troupers. They learned everything, the staging and the choreography and the timing and the flow of the show. They put it together. I don't know how, but they did it.
