You're right, it doesn't represent the general public. But AI is probably the best place to promote a song. I can't think of an another place besides an awards show, but you can't say Rockstar is underperforming 'cause it doesn't have an awards show performance.
A better reason as to why it's "no where" on iTunes is because people simply don't like the song
It has a music video, TV performance, and it's Rihanna/off a #1 single. = plenty to send a song packing.
And again with the no airplay, it had its fair chances with an adds date almost a month ago.

Rockstar 101 reached the top 125 on iTunes off a 30-second sound clip on Gossip Girl. The song is also being used as a theme song on a new show called Nikita. The song is also the most bought non-single from Rated R. And Rockstar 101 is in the 400's on iTunes. Which is what, 2500 copies a week? Your not gonna sit here and tell me people don't like it enough for the song not even to sell 30,000 copies. Being sent to radio, yet not even being spinned or added by big statiions but taking off immediately on smaller stations should tell you something is not right. Bottom line, the song has not been given a chance to perform, without the larger US radio markets at least spinning it to test public reaction.
