And whats wrong with that? Nearly every artist cares about getting the #1 spot but when Justin does it's a crime? Grow up. Plus it's a good deal because some fans may not have enough money to get the album, and this could be an advantage for them.

Isn't that chart now being used to determine overall peaks. They display pure sales chart but the one with SPS is what they are using as the final say so.

Wasn't Journals a bonafide flop??? Even though it magically "didn't chart on the Billboard 200", we all know it was because it wouldn't have debuted at #1

I think One Direction will still snatch the #1 spot on the overall chart too though, Justin could easily go #1 in another week because of his streaming power though so I mean there's really no reason for Bieber stans to flip if he doesn't get the #1 spot because he has a much higher chance of getting it in another week than 1D. Their sales always start off super strong but are super frontloaded. Justin will have more longevity, especially with the success of his singles.

Everyone knows about the 1D vs. Bieber chart battle.

It's just convenient though that the album would be $5 in it's first week for those fans who maybe couldn't afford it. Watch it not be $5 in it's second week, because by then it won't matter because Adele's album will be released.

It's not wrong, but clearly this #1 means more to Justin than it does One Direction. They haven't had to result in discounting an album and what no to get it. If they do decide, then great. It'll be a level playing field.

Omg don't even go there, I'm so sick of people trying to tell me Journals was an album...it didn't debut on the Hot 200 because it wasn't an album. It was like 5 songs in addition to 10 songs released every Monday for 2 months..that's not a normal release method, it was just something special he did for his fans that were getting tired of listening to the same 2 albums...it had no promo and no physical copies so don't even try to tell me Journals was a "bonafide flop"
