Yet another of Wonderlust's 0s, "Middle Of The Road" is from the 1984 album Learning To Crawl.
Written solely by Chrissie Hynde, it features a harmonica solo toward the end of the song, and was donated for inclusion on a double album for Greenpeace in 1989.
(Side-note: @ that thumbnail. Poor Chrissie.)
What the GP had to say:
Wonderlust didn't hold back: "You do noT play a harmonica and expect anything more than 0." I thought the harmonica solo was quite nice, but we are all entitled to our own opinions.
We're not taking our foot off of Chrissie's neck just yet! A lot of 7s for this one. Sure, it's a little cheddar, but I kind of expected it to have the top 15 on lock.
A power ballad that promises love and loyalty even through dark times, it was taken from the band's sixth album, Last Of The Independents.
It has been covered for use as a charity single twice, too. Firstly, it was recorded in 2004 by Girls Aloud for Children In Need; secondly, Carrie Underwood recorded it in 2007 for Idol Gives Back.
