Very good song but surprisingly high... I wish Poem To A Horse was here instead but this is great.
This + Lo Que Mas are amazing ballads and possibly her best in recent years. Thank God she went back to that style.
This is better than Poem To a Horse, imo. I really am surprised that it lasted this long! I'll reveal one more today, but later. One of my fave shakira tracks of all time!
I am so proud this song is so high, it's Shakira at her best for me, where she proves she can rock Electro Pop by being original and great! We say goodbye to one more album!
"She Wolf" was the first single taken from Shakira's album "She Wolf". It was released on July 10, 2009 and written by Shakira, John Hill, and Sam Endicott. Jorge Drexler helped on the spanish version of the song "Loba".
"She Wolf" is a seventies disco-inspired electropop track. It got favourable reception from music critics, many of whom praised it for being different from the other songs released at that time. Commercially, the single was a huge success. In the United States, "She Wolf" peaked at numbers 11 and one on the Billboard Hot 100 and Dance/Club Play Songs component charts, respective, keep in mind that Shakira's run in Billboard Hot 100 isn't great.
"Loba" peaked at number one on both the Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs component charts. In this territory, "She Wolf" was later certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Internationally, the song peaked in the top 10 charts of countries like Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. In Italy and Spain, the song was certified platinum and double-platinum by Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana and Productores de Música de España, respectively.
Kworb! "She Wolf" is so epic. In a time where every single Pop artist was releasing Pop Generic Trash, Shakira comes with a total new sound and blows everyone! I so love "She Wolf", it's one of my all-time faves! My god and the video
Top 10 would have been nice, but I'm not complaining too much. And will any of the pop gurls ever come up with a line as iconic as, "I'm starting to feel just a little abused like a coffee machine in an office?"
I never judge music in the context of the current pop landscape. Something is either great or not. She Wolf was a cute song, but it was too basic to be a lead single, and overall a disappointing effort.

Let's be real here though, would any other song on She Wolf make a great lead single?
