On another note, here's my idea on how to save TRL.

1) "Cancel" it - by this I mean announce a few weeks ahead that TRL will becoming a new show - basically a complete overhaul.

2) The new name (that I picked) will be called 7Live, which will air LIVE Mon-Thur at 7PM ET (hence the name 7Live). A weekly video-only top 10 will air Fridays at the same time, containing the average countdown from votes tallied from Mon-Thur's show.

3) About voting - voting returns to web only PLUS introducing text votes only accepted from 7PM-8PM ET during the previous show.

4) By shaving off 3 videos from Mon-Thur's show, there will be room to show more of the videos, but Friday's show will allow the traditional top 10 to live on.

5) Kick off non-A-list celebs from visiting. Since 7Live would be at 7PM, I recommend moving The Big Ten to 3PM to be the token after-school video show for now on, complete with a whole program reformat - celebs, live performances, viral videos, comedian guest commentary on videos a-la-Best Week ever, premiere videos - anything that makes up a daily list of 10 items - similar to E!'s The Daily 10. I also recommend moving Sucker Free to 5PM (a full hour PLEASE for respect's sake) and farming out some non-A-list hip hop guests and video premieres to that show to also allow more time for videos on 7Live and A-list guests.

6) FIRE DAMIEN. Get FUNNY, likeable new talent.

i love this idea, but instead of completely revamping trl, i say still show the top 10, but just show one premiere a day instead of 2 or 3 first looks!!

1. Fantastic idea, we have only said that for months now
2. I'd prefer to just have an extension to 90 minutes and change the format but your 7Live idea isn't bad either.
3. Good idea. It should always be only about the votes and text votes would add to the votes.
4. Similar to answer to #2.
5. Firstly I don't believe in kicking off all non-A list celebs. Firstly there aren't enough of them to have on every episode and you could be excluding a lot of great people. Also I'm sure TRL tries every day to get A-List celebs, but you can't get them everyday. Secondly, I would love for MTV to have more music related shows that aren't on before 6 am, but you and I both know that it will never happen. Sadly, more people would watch reruns of all their crappy shows.
6. I don't care who hosts. It doesn't have to be anyone in particular. A good show will always make up for a crappy host. So to me it is more important for them to change the show.
