I think it would even things up and both sides would think twice before launching the first rocket. Israel wouldn't be so bold and arrogant, and Hamas would feel less insecure and desperate.
At the moment, Israel is doing whatever it wants because it knows the Palestinians are powerless to stop them.
Hamas is firing away constantly because they are a mouse trapped in a corner, biting and scratching for any way out.
If both sides were more equal, there would be less fighting IMO.

In regard to armaments, certainly "the Palestinians are powerless". However, because of this difference, the Hamas will be able to easily recruit more members/sympathizers and hate within the region will only continue to grow.
This is a conflict that cannot be resolved using weapons: please see U.S-Vietnam War. Diplomacy or treaty with dire consequences if breached is the only answer. Otherwise, this will be a never ending conflict.

Ill give you my opinion on this , Im a Muslim who lives in Sydney Australia and originate from South Lebanon where my family have been killed during the 2006 war. We dont hate jews or christains or catholics. What we want is a state in isreal and Palestine where all religions and races can live peacefully side by side. Those radical groups in Iraq(ISIS) and Syria(FSA) are not the voice of our religion. That disrepect and disregard every aspect of it. Our prophet Mohammed quotted this "Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them." Their Churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.
No one of the nation (of Muslims) is to disobey this covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)." These words are the spoken words of our religion. Please dont take in what you see those stupid extremist groups like the FSA and ISIS

Hamas / Palestinians are not "powerless to stop them" - they spend almost all of their money on recruiting youth and buying armaments and weapons to continue terrorism.
Hamas is not "a mouse trapped in a corner," they are the ones who for the past 10 years have been firing daily rockets, and they are the ones who started this current conflict.
Diplomacy can't work when one side consistently makes even the most limited communication difficult.

Lies, lies and lies. I live in Israel and I rarely hear Hamas shoot missiles and when I do and check on it most of the times they were responding to Israeli attacks and assassinations done by Israel. Yes, I admit they sometimes were shooting missiles without a reason, but its not common, but it happens. Israel on the other hand, theyre the ones who shoot weekly and bomb Gaza for no reason and expect no response from Hamas, but when Hamas respond Israel plays the victim and act like she did nothing wrong, and its all over their media how they are being attacked for no reason. You can argue all you want, but "Hamas shoots rockets daily at Israel for no reason" is one hell of a ******** lie, and thats a FACT, esp the daily shooting part. And let me understand you a bit, you are telling me that all the money, ALL the money Hamas uses it to build missiles and tunnels? Well let ME tell you, that this is one hell of a ******** lie too. All the money countries donate gets in the hands of Israel before they reach the Palestinian goverment and Gaza strip, and most of the times Israel keep the money to put pressure on the Palestinians, esp on Gaza,which your saint goverment supplies them with medics and food and water, which many of the food are rotten, most of the water is exterminated and many medical pills are expired, with many Israeli ministers calling to cut everything on them from food to electricity. So, half of the money goes to the Palestinian Authority and the other half to the Gaza strip, which the most of the money reached to Gaza used to buy food and others. Right? She provided sources and pictures for everything she stated. Where is the proof of these human shields? Where is the pictures of rockets being stored in civilian houses? I have yet to see one? Yet I've seen pictures & videos of the IDF using Palestinians as human shields. And they basically admit to paying people to promote Israel online. Gaza citizens don't do that right now because they are busy running for their lives inside an open air prison
