2. Natalie Grant "I Will Not Be Moved" (Relentless) USA [6,587 pts] Peak:15@1 (RECORD) <#8 MWC> (235,622) [Airplay:#2]
Natalie Grant made her comeback one to remember. In 2008 she charted three times with a couple minor runs, but I Will Not Be Moved took it to a new level. Natalie spent not 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 or even 14 times on top! She spent 15 shows on top out of 51 she was on and 50 in the top 25 plus debuted at #41 too. Natalie had the 2nd biggest Airplay, among the biggest Fan Support, returns and audience appeal. They can certainly relate to a song like this where as rough times get you down, don't let them move you into the wrong way, stay on course and you'll be fine. Nobody knew better than Natalie and she prevented a lot of notable faces from getting their first #1s (Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus) en route to a record-breaking 15@1 performance, and it's only #2 for the year. What could possibly have had a bigger impact than this which also netted 6,587 total points? The video was breath-taking, the voice was powerful too and also a strong message.
1. Belinda Featuring Finley "Your Hero" (Utopia/Finley) Mexico/Italy [7,878 pts] Peak:4@1 <#1 MWC> (244,301) [Airplay:#1, Fan Support #1, Audience Appeal:#1]
This song answers it. This was #1 in every category except for times at #1. Yes she had only 4@1 along with Finley, but the way she did it, she made it look fun with her run. This broke Ashanti's record for longest top 5 streak and wound up spending 79 shows. Your Hero faced some adversity late, but rebounded nicely and got back into focus. She was #5 for 2007 with See A Little Light and now this Mexican superstar can take back home with her to Mexico the #1 Song Of The Year on the 2008 Endchart. This is also the Italy-based Finley's first chart appearance and if it weren't for Belinda, they wouldn't be notable. Belinda said, 'I would like to thank you guys of Finley for asking me to be a part of MWC history. Without you, I wouldn't have done it. The video was amazing and the song was powerful with moving lyrics, harmonizing vocals and a powerful message attached. I'm honored to be a friend of yours.' It certainly seems that way now Belinda. Go rest up, you'll be forever known as having the #1 Song of 2008!

The last couple of years there was an extremely tight battle for #1, but not this year. Belinda was just too tough to beat. Your Hero will end 2008 as my #1 Song Of The Year.

Kendra:Kendra Morris back for more Who did people talk a lot about in 2008? Well, we polled our IDRL & MWC audience and they gave us their responses. Rather than 40, we will do a top 50. Get ready because we like it loud, because we're about to make some noise with this intense list!
50. Roger Clemens
Say all you want, it's been a serious fall from grace. From his name mentioned in the Mitchell Report in 2007 to everything else going wrong for him, he was forever tainted.
49. Vanessa Hudgens
OK so her music wasn't memorable in 2008 but she was part of the High School Musical craze. Her album Identified was not much of a crowd pleaser to some but she impressed her long-time fans though. I myself (Kendra speaking here) am not a fan.
48. Evan Longoria
Known as the Rookie Of The Year in MLB, this Tampa Bay Ray player helped propel his team to the World Series in 2008 after taking down the White Sox and the Red Sox. His team's Cinderella run was finished thanks to the Phillies who ended their 28-year drought. However, Longoria got people in Tampa talking about this team.
47. Tiffany Michelle
This poker player/singer-guitarist took us all on a magical journey at this year's WSOP Main Event when she beat out over 6800 players and finished in 17th. She made friends, she made enemies, she wowed us with her playing ability, and also has a lovely voice. She did ruffle a few feathers including Paul Snead and Craig Marquis, but her run was very magnificent and she won $330K+.
46. Duffy
I think Duffy was born for this. This Welsh singer made her mark in 2008 with Rockferry. She made a statement saying that she was ready for anything. Mercy made the Top 100 of the Endchart.
45. Kanye West
Kanye West, the name says it all. Need I say more? I covered his Can't Tell Me Nothing song (remember, Kendra's words not mine) and you shall check it out, right?
44. Joie Giordano
A young singer from the New York/New Jersey area who is good friends with Planet Groove. Her style and personality make her so lovely to be around, but her claim to fame is Redemption Song where she finished 5th as part of Episode 6:Survival Skills which she didn't survive the challenge. (She has a song in my Myspace player called So Damn Beautiful and her Myspace is http://www.myspace.com/joiemusic <---note this is me saying this)
43. Bob Stoops
He's the Oklahoma University Football coach and will take his team to battle Florida Gators in the BCS National Championship Game on Thursday. His team's only loss in 2008 was against Texas 48-38 in the Red River Rivalry. Recently he got a $3M bonus or something like that.
42. Natalie Cunial
I (Kendra speaking) think Natalie is a weirdo. She is insane in the brain like me. Only difference is that I'm singing and she's D-U-N with Matty. Well, she did make 5th place on Big Brother 9 and can you imagine me being on that show? Not really.
41. Senator John McCain
Ah yes, the man from Arizona with a plan. He was the Republican in the Election and lost to Barack Obama. He is an OK guy to be around but at times he can be a bit out of bounds. You know how it is with politicians right?

40. Joanna Martino
Whether it's Steelroots or her own music, Joanna Martino is a name you'll get to know better in 2009 or 2010. This will be her sophomore album coming up.
39. Pink
Her real name is Alecia Moore, but everyone knows she is Pink. Her album Funhouse spawned the hit Sober and the massive hit So What. 2009 could be bigger for her IF she does the right things.
38. David Tyree
This NY Giants wide-out didn't play a down in the 2008 season, but he is best known for his amazing catch towards the Super Bowl 42's closing moments. If it weren't for his catch or for Manning's escape ability, the Patriots would be 19-0.
37. Donovan McNabb
Normally we wouldn't put a star QB on this list, but Donovan opened himself up to criticism in 2008 and rightly so. He claims he didn't know what a Tie was in the NFL. Um hello dummy, there was a tie in 2002 when you were playing. Anyway, his team is back in the playoffs after a 9-6-1 record and a cruel fate of being benched in the Eagles v.s. Ravens game.
36. Chelsia Hart
This sassy Big Brother 9 HG finished 8th but left her mark known. I (Kendra speaking) think she's a nutcase. She is from Iowa and is very hard to figure out, had a somewhat heated rivalry with Natalie and is only 22.
35. Tiger Woods
Tiger. That name alone is epic. He cemented his mark with a heroic U.S. Open win in a playoff against Rocco Mediate.
34. Lights
The last thing on your mind is Lights. She's #34 on this list. Her 2008 was incredible indeed and her album will be big.
33. Guns N Roses
Ah yes, epicness! They're talented....and have great jammies too! Who doesn't like Chinese Democracy?
32. Ryan Seacrest
Wherever you go when it comes to Idol, this man is yours to handle. Ryan has hosted American Idol since 2002. There have been 7 winners on Idol and his hosting can kind of get people talking about him.
31. Elisa Jordana
Elisa! I think YOU should go home. That's what I said to her on Episode 1 of Redemption Song during the elimination room. Toni was eliminated that week, Jazmin who won the challenge saved me.
