I'm gonna step outta stan mode and be pressed for a minute...
I'm almost over this era & it's barely kicking off. I'm sure a few of you will climb on my wig & tug in the name of Teh LORDt, but I really could give 2 sh*t's. First we had the initial first single, scratch that now buzz single
Sweat. Receiving mixed reviews, which out the gate for a struggling artists is not a good look, they decided to scrap it. Then we got a letter which proved to be lyrics to the INFAMOUS
Sorry with the date 8/20. The suspense builds. Interest's are peaked. People are now watching and waiting. And wait do we wait for? The ****ING album cover? And don't serve me w/that "she never said what 8/20 meant...". You know good & damn well that w/lyrics and a date it SUGGEST the songs release. Never in the history of ****dom has anyone giving a release date for an single cover & NOT the single itself. Now people are back to the "flop....push back...fading" comments. FINE. We are left waiting and wondering w/out word on the single for nearly a MONTH. Finally the song/video surfaces on 106 & Park coupled with a slew of media interviews. In these interviews she mentions several times that the follow up single
Got Me Good will premier on October 8th. THREE days before it's release Ci
explains what's going on w/the single . I'm ecstatic that she has the courtesy of giving her fans a heads up, but COME THE **** ON! This is WHY nothing should have been released until everything was finalized. Already there are multiple dates out concerning
OWA's release, which isn't directly her fault, but she's the one to suffer from it. I'm rarely vocal in my dissatisfaction w/Ci, but it's begging to become repetitive. I hate comparing artist to each other, but Brandy, Keyshia, Xtina, Rih, Kesha have all started their respective era's. Brandy is promoting to the HIGHEST OF HEAVENS via twitter. Keyshia & Brandy are both in the top 10 on the R&B charts. Xtina, Rih & Kesha all have charted Top 40 w/their singles. And the reason why I'm comparing Ci to both r&b and pop acts is because that's what she is. A mixture of both. Her album will no doubt appeal to both audiences, so any artists releasing in the same time frame from either genre is her immediate competition. And as much as I love
Sorry, it isn't strong enough to stand on its own w/out a flawless performance or two.
I JUST WANT HA TO SLAAAAAAAAY!
