Why do albums that never even top the UK Album chart sell more than ones that do?

Which album are you referring to? In recent years all the best-selling albums have topped the chart. Leona, Amy Winehouse, GaGa, Kings of Leon, Take That etc

Well, exactly. I never expected Aphrodite to be multi-platinum, I don't think it's very likely she will ever get a multiplat album (just being realistic), but she is still *one of* the most successful female artists from the Commonwealth.

Well hell since were counting like that then I can add in Destiny's Child two #1 singles. They also had EVERY SINGLE they ever released go Top 10 with the exception of two of them.

True, but it's not like she had much competition. Her accomplishments can certainly be surpassed by other artists in future. Kylie was never global like the other leading forces in pop.

Did you know that Girls Aloud have a string of 20 top ten hits and only 1 single didn't reach the top 10 (peaked at #11)? They hold the record for most consec. top ten hits by a girl group

#16, which was at the time the second biggest fall from #1.George Harrison fell to #18 in the seventies. Bionic fell to #29 so it smashed the record.

Yeah, Céline (and Shania) may have sold more albums. They are the two best selling females in Canada and paired with their US success it's enough to put them ahead. But Kylie has been successful in Oceania, most of Europe (unlike many western artists where their popularity wanes as you travel east), Latin America, and parts of Asia. And at times, Canada.
