As for Future, I'd say his popularity definitely skyrocketed last year, secured by DS2 & WATTBA. He's not in the trinity yet but I'd probably put him at 4th or 5th.

He's like, trap kingpin. He's also making the "release as much as you can!" thing a thing.
And a lot of the sounds in his music are influencing rap and hip hop.

I can't really put off Cole cuz although he may seem to be less of an event than Future, he can still secure in Platinum albums. He has longevity as well. Must be cuz of his loyal fanbase.

J. Cole is kinda like the P!nk (I hate to bring Pop Girls into it)
His hits are usually like for 5 minutes, you never see active J. Cole stans, he's never talked about when he isn't in an era, but he always has success/hype/and is talked about when he returns.

The only commercial rappers today with consistent success are Drake / Nicki / Lil Wayne. But even Lil Wayne is out at this point, and he's moreso past generation like Eminem / Jay-Z / etc. Fetty was kinda of a one era wonder.

Yeah, because T-Pain didn't do this with his music and auto-tune...

And yes, if anyone thinks Future is here for the long haul, then they are in for a "shock."

He's just covering the territory that T-Pain and a few others like him did back in the '00s.

And trap music right now is just a flash-in-the-pain. Future may be more 'relevant' than J. Cole, but J. Cole has more chances of outlasting whatever Hip Hop trend is going on now.
