Pop diva Jennifer Lopez looks set to have cause for celebration this weekend. For, the superstar singer is on the brink of securing her first UK #1 single in over 6 years.
According to official midweek figures, the 41 year old’s comeback single ‘On The Floor (ft. Pitbull)’ is outselling nearing rival, Adele’s seemingly unstoppable ‘Someone Like You’, by quite a margin.
Should the American Idol judge nab the top spot, it will serve as her first British chart-topper since 2005’s ‘Get Right’.
With her promotional push limited in the US – and almost non-existant here in the UK (due to her Idol commitments), this is most certainly a huge achievement. And, more than anything, serves as yet another, case, point, example of the results of putting out solid material. Such material being something which had eluded Lopez for sometime; yet something she appears to have remedied with this ‘Love?’ project.
And as for Adele's slaying...it's getting kinda scary. She's been dominating the charts for the past, what, three months....and there's no signs that she's stopping.
WHY is BTW underperforming ? Its STILL A-list on Radio 1 after so many weeks and its still in power rotation on the music channels! I know she hasn't promoted it over here, but its got massive airplay and media/public attention so I don't get it? :s
