The Billboard rule on that is a little murky (unless they changed it again). The remix has to sound significantly like the original for them to count together for charting purposes. Like Britney's S&M remix helped Rih get that #1 cause sales for both counted for the single. But J.Lo's Ain't It Funny remix is significantly different from the original so it charted separately.
