WOW.
What a great album. This should cement her status as an A list popstar, along the likes of Rih, Katy, Taylor, Bey and co (as opposed to the B list she's been at, with Selena and Demi). Everything about it is just quality, from the vocals to the lyrics to the production. She really took the criticism from Focus and used it to create something great. Mad props.
I'll admit I doubted her big time. Focus was abysmal, and Be Alright wasn't much better. And then Let Me Love You didn't grab me right away. I only listened to those songs plus Dangerous Woman and Into You beforehand, so I wasn't expecting much from the album. But it's spectacular.
Focus, Be Alright, and Jason's Song are the only weak links (and of course two of those are Japanese/Target tracks so meh). I Don't Care is filler, but it's still pretty good.
And then every other song is at least a 9/10.
Moonlight and Thinking Bout You are absolutely beautiful. Touch It, Greedy, Everyday, Bad Decisions, and Side To Side are a ton of fun. Leave Me Lonely was a shocking surprise (in a good way), and Knew Better / Forever Boy is amazing. 14 fantastic songs in total.
I hope this gets love from the critics and GP cuz she deserves it.
