Wow, I'm so happy that Bonnie got her Top 5 single! #4 is great... "Your Love Is My Drug" and "Applause" teas, though. With all of this competition I'm not sure if I should continue to pursue it and try to get it to hit #1 or focus more on getting "Young Love" up the charts... decisions, decisions.
'Young Love' getting that #2 debut though! That's not bad for an EP. Happy for Bonnie!
Luke, your instrumentals slay. Also, I hope Bonnie will get some credit for helping write "Careless" and "Vertigo".
Happy the new limit is 25 articles. I'm going all out this week. "Smile" needs to at least scan platinum, and I'd love for 'Young Love' to scan gold and for "Young Love" to get a decent start.
On Air With Ryan Seacrest Interview
(Acoustic performance included)
After finishing up promotion for the week, in what Taylor Swift would consider a "break week", Taylor Swift seemed to be planning to lay low for awhile as she was still in the studio recording her upcoming seventh studio album which millions are patiently awaiting. It wasn't until this morning that Taylor Swift told her followers and fans to tune in on their local radio station at noon for an announcement regarding her extended play 'Coven 13/Coven XIII'. Her millions of fans and followers were greeted by a voice message by Swift herself in which she announced the world premiere of her brand new single, titled 'Loverboy'. "Hey you guys it's Taylor Swift and I have a little something special for you. Sorry for no warning but you're about to hear the lead single from my upcoming seventh studio album. This is 'Loverboy'. Enjoy!" The Giorgio Moroder produced song hit the airwaves after, millions listening on over one hundred different channels, something only done one before with Eric Saade and Justin Bieber's infamous and groundbreaking collaboration (Favorite Kind of Trouble). Over thirty million people heard the premiere of the song as fans went insane, going into a frenzy as thousands rushed to iTunes to see if it was available. They were greeted by a banner for the single, Taylor's little banner looking cute amongst Britney Spears' for her album "American Dream". Thousands of fans bought the single as in less than twenty minutes the song was already in the top three. In it's twenty fifth minute the song topped the iTunes chart, becoming Taylor Swift's fastest song to reach the summit of the iTunes chart. This morning Taylor Swift was live on radio with Ryan Seacrest to whom she talked about the single, alongside her upcoming album in which 'Loverboy' serves as the lead single for. She even performed the song acoustic for Ryan, the song losing it's disco appeal for a more signature Taylor Swift sound. The interview with Taylor Swift was available on Ryan's website right after it finished airing on numerous radio channels that air Ryan's radio show.
"Taylor Swift is in the studio with us. Good morning Taylor Swift!" Ryan Seacrest greeted Taylor, who was sitting in a chair wearing a cute little dress designed by Zuhair Murad. "I'm doing absolutely incredible. I'm kind of on a high after this morning." Taking a sip of her Starbucks, she smiled. "Your single 'Loverboy' which had a massive premiere this morning shot straight to number one on iTunes. We actually have news that you did it in twenty five minutes. You beat your own record with that. We Are Never Getting Back Together did that, If I remember correctly. Are you a bit surprised by it?" "I am kind of. You know my latest singles, which have been features, haven't really performed like my singles prior have. So you know the fact so many people went onto iTunes as soon as they heard it to send it straight to number one in less than half an hour is incredible. I can't believe it." Readjusting herself in her chair, she let out a small giggle. "So tell us about the single. It's produced by disco legend Giorgio Moroder. Give us some background on the song and tell us how it was working with him" Ryan asked the beautiful singer-songwriter who just scored her third number one album and sixth number one single simultaneously last week. "Working with Giorgio was absolutely incredible" Taylor confessed. "I met him I believe in Paris at a DJ festival or something and we sort of spoke. Being the total fangirl I am I confessed how much a fan I was of his work. I remember calling him a 'god' and 'legend' too somewhere in that. But yeah we talked for about ten minutes and the subject came about of me working on a disco album. He said he would love to work with me and bam, the next day we were in the studio. He's such a professional in the studio. As soon as he sits down he already has an idea in mind and that's how I work too, so whenever we were in the studio at my home or in Italy, it was really quick. And 'Loverboy' was a song that I'd written first on my guitar and I remember reading the lyrics over with Giorgio and he was like, "This would work perfect as a disco song". So we produced around it, gave the song a sort of facelift and that's how it became what it is. It's just a really fun song about you know wanting to be alone for a night with your loverboy." A follow up question to Swift's last sentence was asked to whom the inspiration behind the song was. "I kind of wrote the song after I met this actor at a red carpet event. I can't tell you who because he'll kill me since he knows it's about him but yeah." When asked when the world could expect more tour dates for her sold out Electric Princess Tour, Swift replied with quickness. "This week. Definitely this week. You won't have to wait long at all. Promise." Her seventh studio album was discussed too. "My seventh album is one of my best I think visually. It's simplistic with it's art direction but it kind of is very raw and beautiful at the same time I think. The music direction varies. It's heavily disco dominated but there's rock elements and synth wave elements in there too. It's disco but it's not pure disco. It's a new take on disco really. The Knocks and Giorgio did an amazing job of helping me really take disco and making it my own." About other artists she was really enjoying the moment, Taylor seemed very impressed with multiple. "I really love Britney. I'm such a stan. She's so beautiful and her album is really good. I really love Azealia who's so crazy but hilarious and Charli's a sweetheart too. I'm really excited for what's to come with Zendaya too. If there is anything coming."
Zedd's new album Serenity pushed back to next week
EDM producer Zedd's latest album Serenity, originally scheduled for release on July 14th, is being pushed back a whole week to July 21st. This is after multiple releases this week were announced, including Britney Spears' American Dream, Christina Aguilera's Pandora's Box, and Kylie Minogue's Distant Days. This will allow for additional time to finalize the album tracklisting and to properly promote the album and the current single from the album, "Temple."
The "Clarity" hitmaker told us on the postponement: "I wasn't ready to release this album to the public. I and my team need to wrap up the graphics, finalize and publish the final tracklisting, update the iTunes store page, and properly promote both my current single "Temple" as well as the album, which hasn't gotten any promotion itself, just the singles. Seeing the underperformance of "Slay" and "Temple" has also convinced me to make this decision. I apologize to all my fans, but a special bonus to everyone who has preordered the album on iTunes should be coming soon!"
"Temple" debuted at number 9 on the official CAL chart this week. "Slay" debuted and peaked at number 15 last week and dropped off the charts this week as no promotion was done for it. However, Zedd promises more promotion for both "Temple" and the Serenity album itself.
The album was last said to include collaborations with Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Ariana Grande, Matthew Koma, Miriam Bryant, Ryan Tedder, Foxes, and others. This may have changed since the album was last spoken of.
"Temple" has many more promotional spots lined up this week! Stay tuned! Remember to buy both the single and music video for "Temple" on iTunes, stream the song on Spotify, and watch the music video on YouTube or Vevo!
A remix EP for "Temple" is rumored to come out this week. Stay tuned as details of this come in.
"Temple" is the second single from Zedd's sophomore album Serenity.
Buy it now on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. Also stream it on YouTube and Spotify!
The music video is now available on iTunes, YouTube, and Vevo!
Taylor Swift Finds A "Loverboy" With Keds
('Loverboy' used in Keds Commercial // Taylor perzonalized 'Loverboy' shoe made available)
With the release of Taylor Swift's latest single 'Loverboy', a disco fueled love song produced by the pioneer of disco Giorgio Moroder, Taylor Swift has continued to keep her name out and about in the world. With it's massive radio premiere and millions rushing out to hear and stream the song, it seems to be that Taylor Swift isn't taking any time off from releasing new material. Swift had just released her brand new extended play that served as a sequel to her Coven 13 sixth studio album when she announced the soon release of what is soon to be her seventh studio album. "You know I kind go got really tired and really exhausted of singing the same song or songs every week. You know the only time I really enjoy myself is when I'm singing songs that I can connect to. Not only me but the fans. The songs I wrote for Coven 13 the album, along with the extended play, were songs that I wrote when I was going through one of the darkest times of my life. I've come out of that state of my life and I'm really happy now. So singing songs about the past, especially ones about times I don't really want to reflect on make me feel kind of… depressed or sad. So that's why I kind of ended the life of the extended play and moved on to the next album" Taylor Swift told Ryan Seacrest this morning on his radio show, 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest, a show in which Taylor was a guest star on in promotion for 'Loverboy' which began the day the song was released. Further promotion began as Taylor Swift began appearing on other radio stations and also performing the song on programs on network television. Also on television appeared advertisements hosted by Keds, a shoe company in which Taylor Swift has an endorsement with. The advertisements varied, one being a night scene and the other a day scene (or day version and night version) The night version of the advertisement features Taylor alongside some other girls in colorful dresses as they enter a house party. The girls walk through the place as Taylor is wearing the 'Loverboy' shoe, in which has recently went on sale. The girls walk out to the back where the pool is lit up along with a bunch of people who are partying by it. Taylor and her girls spot some guys as 'Loverboy' begins to play. They party and dance with the boys as clips of hers' and the guys' shoes are shown. Taylor speaks at the end of the commercial. "Get my personalized 'Loverboy shoe now on Keds.com along with my single 'Loverboy'." The day version is similar except it shows Taylor on the boardwalk where she admires a boy from afar. With the announcement of the 'Loverboy' shoe as well, Taylor spoke about it exclusively to Keds. "Having my own shoe by Keds is amazing but you know being able to design it myself is even better. It's really crazy that they're letting me design my own stuff but yeah. I went in with some designers and we created it. It just so happens that the show kind of is perfect for partying and going on date. It's really suitable for any situation. They come in like five different colors. Pink, red, black, white, and I think purple and blue too. But if I were to wear them it would definitely be for my loverboy. I named them that. It just so happens I have a brand new single called 'Loverboy'. A coincidence? I think so." Swift also gave Keds an exclusive about her upcoming album. "I worked with some really talented artists on it. I worked with Zendaya on it. We did a track called 'Manhattan Girls'. It's a really cute dark but fun uptempo about you know partying and having a good time. It's really hard to explain but you'll get it when you hear it. The album is just a lot of fun and I'm really glad Keds has agreed to help promote it with me along with their shoes." Taylor laughed in the interview uploaded by Keds to their YouTube. Taylor Swift's 'Loverboy' show is available at all retailers that sell Keds shoes and also on Keds official website (keds.com). Taylor's single 'Loverboy' is available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and other digital download providers as well. Make sure to look out for Taylor Swift's upcoming seventh studio album in the next few weeks.
I just realised, Bonnie's "Smile" is only getting stronger as the weeks go by. Current sales are at 837,000 with Platinum being sure for next week. I'm going to make this a SMASH. Longevity, here I come!
Would any other females like to join this convention? You can choose to perform at any date of your choice! I'll be sure to write in a performance from your signee and it would count towards your promo list if you chose.
Any one?
I'm trying to be more creative with promo.
It has been confirmed by the American cosmetics brand, founded in Maryland, that Christina Aguilera is indeed the next CoverGirl. This shall prove to be a great contrast to the already on-going contract extensions that the 'voice of our generation' has with both Christian Dior and Tiffany & Co. Not much is known as to whether this will be a one-off stunt deal or something a little more long term than we first thought. Aguilera has recently released her long-awaited 8th studio album - "Pandora's Box" - which has been met by a slew of universal acclaim.
We have no doubts that this business arrangement shall prove to be beneficial for both ends of the stick; Christina Aguilera and CoverGirl. We'll be able to witness Xtina in a new light since CoverGirl is entirely associated with their catchy tagline and slogan: "Easy, breezy, beautiful, CoverGirl". Will Xtina opt for the seductive, sweet, or mature tone for when the time comes to saying those words? Who know? All that we do know is we're excited to see Aguilera step out of her comfort zone so much this era. She has already 'banked' on up-and-coming female rapper Azealia Banks who is featured on Aguilera's second single "Spitfire", which is a reggae-infused track produced by world-renowned beatmaker DJ Premier. This collaboration of sorts seems to have paid off due to how well the music video for "Spitfire" has been received. There are already predictions and bets on the market that Christina and Azealia will undoubtedly sweep the upcoming VMAs, bound in a few weeks time.
In other news, the notorious "Xtina killer" is still on the prowl and legal action is expected to take place incredibly soon. What does that entail for Aguilera's career? Nobody has a clue. If anything, this high-profile shall prove more advantageous than otherwise methinks. Just a little over some week ago, Christina was rushed to the ER room of a Los Angeles-based hospital acre in the early hours of Saturday morning. There, at the medical centre, professionals found an unusual strand of a molecule similar to that of a vague prescription drug.
As of now, doctors and a bunch of scientists in that particular field of expertise are trying to figure which specific chemical balance caused such a thing to even occur in the first place. All of this came before Aguilera's ties with Scientology came into grave prominence. In light of shocking news lately, those higher up the Scientology world have allegedly expressed their unmatched interesting in Christina and her two children [Olivia Aguilera-Rutler & Max Liron Bratman]. Aguilera's team even had to release an official statement that Xtina, herself, wanted nothing to do with Scientology since many people misunderstood the reports and thought it was a Tom Cruise-type situation. Well, we can only pray that Christina and her family's health remains intact. Especially with this latest era, Aguilera needs all the support that she wholeheartedly deserves from us as the general public.
Aguilera's record "Pandora's Box" is now available for PURCHASE.
Her reggae-infused second single track "Spitfire" f/ Azealia Banks comes with a 5% off discount.
Taylor Swift has proven herself to be one of the top females in not only pop music but in the music industry in general. With countless crossover hits and experimenting in almost every genre, it seems that Taylor has not only proven herself to be commercially successful but also that she is versatile and everything more. Taylor Swift started off her almost decade long career as a country singer with her debut eponymous album that sold over five million copies in the United States, but soon began to branch away from country music with albums such as her third studio album Speak Now and her highly controversial album RED, in which caused some backlash from avid country listeners who had claimed Taylor as the Queen of Country. Her fifth album 'All At Once' showcased Taylor going back to her roots as the number one album was a critic hit, critics admiring Taylor for going back to the country and folk sound they felt was her niche. That all changed again as Taylor released her first album not to be country at all, Coven 13. With her most experimental album yet, Taylor caused major waves in the media, showcasing versatility as the album contained tracks with hip-hop influences, EDM influences, along with pop and rock influences. Critics admired Taylor for her ability to write and sing any genre along with her songwriting skills that only improve with every single studio album. The album proved to be Taylor's most successful album to date, selling one million copies in three weeks and spawning four consecutive number one singles from it. Swift's extended play, 'Coven XIII' the sequel to the album also spawned two top three singles, one being Taylor's sixth number one. Now up to date, Taylor Swift has released her lead single from her upcoming yet to be titled seventh studio album. 'Loverboy' was released in a massive way, premiering to million in a massive Clear Channel first play. The song shot straight to the top on iTunes and it seems likely to stay there for awhile. As one, Taylor Swift has major star power and two, because we are almost completely sure that Tigerlily Recordings will give Taylor big bucks to promote it. With numerous radio interviews and performances for the song already taking place, the singer gave the first major performance for the single tonight at the Juno Awards held in Canada tonight in the city of Toronto. Taylor did not walk the red carpet as she had just flown in from Los Angeles. As soon as Swift got to the venue she changed into her stage outfit and hit the stage. Wearing a white Emporio Armani crop top with sleeves and high wasted white Giorgio Amrani pants, the American singer-songwriter finished the look off with some Stella McCartney heels. Taylor was introduced to the stage by Carly Rae Jepsen when the lights dimmed. The stage was dark for a few moments before the opening synth of 'Loverboy' came on as the stage lit up in a bright white/gray light. As the intro progressed, rays of light began shining town from the stage as Taylor rose out of the stage, holding a microphone that had a skin of Swarovski crystals covering it. As soon as the beat that initiates the first verse started Swift started moving forward as dancers popped out of the stage to do some choreography with her. Her dancers were male and during one part of the song they lifted Swift in the air to turn her around. Swift touched on her dancers often and even at point laid on top of one. The bridge was euphoric as a disco ball descended from the ceiling as Taylor unleashed vocals. Before it went back into the chorus a gritty disco beat hit as Taylor and her dancers did a classic disco like choreographed dance to it. The performances was the best of the night and many critics admired Swift for her newly found stage pretense and vocal abilities. Following the performance Taylor talked to the Juno Awards themselves about the performance. "I was almost too late to perform because of a delay at LAX but I was happy to be able to get here. We only had one rehearsal performance of the song so I was kind of surprised how well everything went. People seemed to love the performance and I hope they know that this performance was just a teaser for what is to come with the next few ones. It's been a really good night and I want to thank everyone for the awards. They mean a lot to me. Bye!" The performance was the most viewed of the night as it was uploaded to The Juno Awards' official YouTube. The song currently sits at number on Canadian iTunes. Get your copy of 'Loverboy' today.
'Devour My Heart' Album Trailer and Billboards all around the world
Today, Monday 14th of july 'Devour My Heart' the critically acclaimed sophomore album by Charli XCX was released at 12AM in the morning and fans who were camping in front of stores for days now got their Physical copy of 'Devour My Heart'. Charli surprised a few fans by appearing at one of the biggest music stores in Japan (where she currently is for the first date of the Tokyo Lights Tour) where she performed a few songs from the album including 'Alone in the Dark', 'Tokyo Lights' as well as the party song 'Wasted (Taste it)', SuperLove and her True Romance songs 'You're The One', 'You (Ha Ha Ha)' and Nuclear Seasons'.
As part of the promotion for her album a album trailer was aired for the first time today and has already been aired in more than 50 different countries all around the world. The commercial starts by showing Charli in Tokyo in a leather leotard with red leather gloves and a red jacket. She is turning around and playfully flirting with some people in the streets. 'Tokyo Lights' is playing. Later on while the album cover appears briefly on screen 'Alone in the Dark' plays and starts showing bits of the 'Alone in the Dark' music video and the 'Alone in the dark Remix (Feat. Brooke Candy)' music video. The commercial ends and Charli screams "Now Available Everywhere!".
Another big promotional stunt made to promote the album was the Billboards promoting the album which can be seen everywhere around the world in different cities, including but not limited to New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Tokyo, Osaka, London, Manchester, Dublin, Paris, Lyon, Rome, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Berlin, Dubai and Sydney. More than 75 billboards have been set up worldwide and more than a hundred are still to be revealed. Thousands of people have already seen the Billboards which will probably push the album sales' well.
"I'm happy that s many people will know about this album, one of my missions with this album was to get people to know me. It's happening right now!" said Charli XCX when she was asked about it by a fan in Japan.
For the first time today, Charli XCX promoted her music in Japan, which is one of the biggest music markets worldwide. After appearing earlier at a music store to promote her album and perform a few songs Charli appeared on Music Station for a performance and for an interview.
She first performed wearing a Roberto Piqueras leather short dress with big neon boots. After the host introduced her to the Japanese TV, she started singing the album track 'Out of My Control'. Six dancers joined her on the stage for the amazingly well choreographed performance with smoke and neon lights all around the stage. She than sang the 2013 promo single 'SuperLove'. For the performance, she replaced the neon boots with white boots and had a red leather jacket over her black leather Roberto Piqueras Dress. Only 2 dancers were on stage during the performance acting as if they were Charli's friends and gossiping together during the song.
After a small commercial break and an outfit change, this time Charli wore a pink Gucci dress with white Christian Louboutin heels. She performed her favorite track on the album 'Tokyo Lights'. The stage had many props and neon lights to make it look like Toyo's busiest streets at night. The final performance, was the performance of 'Alone in the Dark' the lead single from the album as well as it's Remix which features Brooke Candy, who joined her on stage for the performance wearing a metallic corset with metallic heels.
Charli then sat down for an interview:
Welcome Charli! is this your first time in japan?
No I was here in August 2013 when I filmed the 'SuperLove' music video. But it's the first time on Japanese Television yeah.
Well you already have a big fan base here! Your album 'Devour My Heart' was just released! What other albums did you recently buy or would like to buy?
Well I bought Taylor Swift's EP 'Coven 13' right when it was released, as well as Marina & the Diamonds' EP. Since I'm a huge Britney fan i bought her album right when it was rleeased yesterday! American Dream is amazing. I'm thinking about buying Kylie Minogue's album as well.
Why did you choose those songs 'Out of My Control', 'SuperLove', 'Tokyo Lights' and 'Alone in the Dark' for the performance today?
Well I wanted to perform 'Out of My Control' on TV, I hadn't performed it on TV before and this was jsut the perfect time! I then performed SuperLove cause it would remind some people who might have bought the song before of who I am. It also represents well the album just like 'Tokyo Lights' which I performed because it's alo my favorite song on the album. Finally I had to perform 'Alone in the Dark'.
What would you want to release as single?
I'd love to release Tokyo Lights or Hooked on it as singles. My label has decided to release 'Tokyo Lights' and re-release 'SuperLove' as singles, you'll see in a few hours.
Ellie Goulding on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine (400+)
Q: Have you always wanted to be a singer?
A: No, I wanted to be an actress, which is weird because I come from an absolute non-performing-arts family.
My mom worked in a supermarket, and my stepdad drove a truck. I've met a lot of American families who
are very encouraging and supportive. But my mom was busy thinking about how she was going to afford to pay
for everything from rent to school to clothes. Supporting something unrealistic just didn't happen.
Q: Are you in a relationship right now?
A: No not right now. I was in a lot of relationships that ended quickly in the past but I'm way too busy right
now. I haven't even been on a date in the past few months. I'll have more time for that after my album comes out.
Q: Was it hard to make your new album?
A: It started off hard but it kind of got easier later on. I think I just needed to be inspired because as soon as
I took some time off and went to Australia, I couldn't stop writing songs. By the time I got back into the studio to
record my new album, I had over fifty songs and I couldn't decide which ones should make the final cut. Asleep was
definitely a stand out song an I knew straight away that it would be the first single.
Q: What is your new music video like?
A: It was shot in a mansion in England. It's a really fun video and it's over five minutes long. At the start, a woman
is interviewing me and she asks the wrong questions so I leave. The rest of the video takes place out of the mansion.
Q: Is it true that James Franco has joined the cast of your new show Skeleton?
A: I know there have been rumours going around about that. The producer of Skeleton called him and he actually said
that he'd be very interested in the role! It's not confirmed yet but I can't believe that I might get the chance to
work with one of my favorite actors!
Q: Are there any collaborations for this album?
A: I can't reveal anything yet but there might be one or two. I usually don't have too many features on my albums.
A few underground producers produced the album for me but Jim Eliot and Greg Kurstin made most of it.
Charli XCX just performed the first date of her Stadium tour in Japan, Tokyo at the Tokyo Dome. The packed arena screamed Charli's name during the few hours before the concert started. Charli's album was also being sold at the venue in huge quantities as this is the release date of the album. After Sky Ferreira's Impressive Opening set where she performed more than 5 new songs from her brand new album, lights started going crazy. 'XCX' started appearing on the screen. Slowly Charli emerged on stage screaming: "Welcome Tokyo... Welcome to the TOKYO LIGHTS TOUR!". She started performing the very first song of the set 'SuperLove'. The impressive set composed of more than 20 songs amazed the fans and Charli was full of energy.
The critics praised different things: The amazing lights as well as the Charli's vocals and dance moves. They also praised Charli for knowing how to put such an IMPRESSIVE show.
Charli changed her outfits, 7 times throughout the shot and many pieces for the show were custom amde by Roberto Piqueras, The Blonds and many more designers.
