Most acts in her position tend to tank disastrously, and a large amount of people on this site thought that she'd sell under 50K like Carly Rae, so it's actually quite a surprise that she manages to get such high first week sales.

Also, she's outdoing Ariana Grande, who had several hits off of her album and an insurmountably huge promotional campaign, so it's pretty funny.

Ari's picture was a bit all over the place. And the album didn't sound promising. Also ended up not being one. Meghan seems like she had been able to put together a good chunk of music. It doesn't sound dated either.
