Yeah, I agree to early. She needed I Bet to peak, and then to send out one of her pop songs b4 the release.

I don't really care if she flops but it's SO unjust. She should be on top of the world.

Out of all the females in the industry right now, she's probably top 5 when it comes to world domination potential. She's a hell of a performer, she's gorgeous, she's young, her voice can fit most genres... the list goes on. I just wish they were more serious about her comeback.
She should really take notes from Nicki. She spent an entire year doing remixes, features and Soundcloud uploads to build her buzz. Then, she dropped 4 singles before the album, one of them having a controversial video and single cover. She did promo before the album came out too. And then everything kinda fell into place. Noone should wait until after their album hits the shelves to promote themselves.

We all knew it was too early and that I Bet wouldn't launch the album, especially since it hasn't even reached its peak at any radio format yet. I Bet was a perfect single choice to get her core audience on board and avoid a Fantasy Ride sized backlash from the urban community. Its airplay success is also the only thing we can brag about when people inevitably drag us for the album sales, so I hope none of you tries to disown it.
I don't like the album, but I love my girl and I'm here for her. I don't care if she sells 5k this week, I'm here. I fought with like 50 different people at the blog comment sections when Basic Instinct flopped, so I got this.

Exactly. Now is the time for the squad to band together -- not turn on one another, and definitely not turn on Ci. We'll get through this. We've been through worse.

Yep, I think that's what makes this so tough for many squad members. We know she's one of the most talented artists in the game, plus she's so damn sweet and genuine. She, more than just about any other musician, deserves to win. It really is unfair. But that's why we need to stand by her when others tear her down for a cheap thrill.

She really needs to push it back a moth or so. No point in releasing now. Also, if she's able to sell some singles, the album won't be a total loss.

I literally love this album - it has been on repeat since it was "obtained" - but one thing I just do not understand is why was "Dance Like We're Making Love" not the first single? I mean, I like "I Bet" but DLWML could've done wonders for the first week sales, just my opinion any way.

She probably wanted to build off her urban play first

DLWML is urban too, though. Regardless, the album is dope and no matter fail or success I will still listen. Just wish Ciara could catch a damn break, lol.

She caught a break with BP, cause Epic handled it properly. There was promo, a good video, radio interviews and a conscious effort to make radio play it.
She could have easily caught a break this time too. She wasn't coming off of a completely flop era, her celebrity status was higher than ever and there are no other r&b artists releasing right now... But it didn't quite happen.

I Bet also had the future allusion to garner interest in the song, that DLWML didn't really have.

Can't catch a break when you're not willing to put the work in.

I just wish the campagne for I Bet had been more solid. I mean the remixes were a really great idea.
T.I. for urban, Joe for pop and R3hab for the clubs, but they could have handled it so much better. With some more dance remixes weeks ago, she could have climbed slowly the club/dance charts, and even though those don't mean that much, it is easy to gain and it is an achievement that will get reported.
Beside that I find it odd that they kept the Joe remix as the "extra" of the album, while her label should have hyped it up a bit more, but I guess they might use it throughout I Can Do That promo.

Listening just now, loving the album. How much is it estimated to sell first week?

I still don't know why they haven't tried to promo her in Japan like Avril. Asia is kinda here for her it seems, I think it's because she can dance
