Taylor was everyone like Katy in 2010-2011
Taylor's style was on point like Katy's in 2010-2012
Taylor's music videos have been great or at least decent like Katy pre-PRISM.
The list goes on. Taylor's company simply took the Teenage Dream blueprint and made it more successful (as Taylor is the bigger star). Perfectly timed promotion, strategic music video release, remixes of certain songs with popular rappers, etc.
Meanwhile for the Prism era we got
Katy was everywhere for the first 6 months of PRISM. After that she didn't do **** to promote.
Katy has been dressing like a hockey mom who doesn't have time to get her **** together and look presentable.
Katy's music videos have been legitimately terrible as of late. Roar and Dark Horse have a lot of replay value, but leave much to be desired. Unconditionally was the best video simply for the imagery. Birthday and TIHWD looked like they were given a $1,000 budget.
Katy needs to realize she is Katy Perry and not ADELE. She makes bubblegum pop in the most digestible form and it's easy to replicate. If she keeps putting off her album release she will eventually reach a point where the public does not care. I may not talk about Katy much on this forum but in real life all my friends know I'm a huge Katy fan and even I'm becoming and less and less interested in her next album.
Almost 3 ****ing years and you have NO SONGS COMPLETE? Are you serious? You're over ****ing 30 years old. She is getting to the point where people begin to view her as too old for pop music. There better be some diversity with this album because I swear if she waits 3 years just to release another damn bubblegum pop album I will rip up these posters on my wall and light them on fire. I haven't seen a pop star since Gaga in 2011 be so intent on ruining their career.
Also Katy has always, ALWAYS, depended on her looks to sell her music. That's not really a debatable thing. If she was ugly IKAG would have never even happened. The fact that she seems to have forgotten this and appears in some ugly ass outfits 90% of the time now is just irritating.
Whatever, i'm done ranting. If she doesn't deliver a ****ing fantastic album and at least try to look presentable she will flop and she will deserve to.

Have you ever heard of the phrase "Calm before the storm"? That's how I would describe Katy's current situation.

She won't lose her lead on Twitter anytime soon. If you go here, you can click on their usernames and see that Katy gains about the same amount of followers in a day as Justin and more than Regina on average now that she's ending her era (e.g. so far today alone the 17th she's gained about 11,000, Justin has gained about 9,000 and Regina hasn't gained any). So she's still the most powerful celeb on Twitter.

You simply cannot say that Katy Perry is irrelevant. Just because she doesn't have music out at the moment does not mean she's irrelevant.
83 million followers on Twitter is impressive, especially for someone who hasn't put out music in over two years. People obviously still care about her, and the number is only increasing. She's a GP darling.
Are you even a stan? I shouldn't have to be defending her like this. I'm not even a stan, I just like her.

People love her enough that they'll stream + buy her singles but they won't come out in droves for her albums.
So I think that's why so people follow on Twitter but they don't really interact with her much.
She does well on tour tho.
Anyway, how can we change this so the GP actually becomes actively interested in ha? I want her to have her 1984 era

Release a buzz single that's clearly not made to be a chart hit, win over the respect from critics + the album buying public.

She doesn't even mention anyone anymore, it's all just instagram links or random tweets she literally cowrote with her friends.
I can't believe this bitch cowrites her tweets, how can we even expect her to write her own music

For GP to interested in her she must put out the conhesive album with intersting theme and not a bubblegum pop record she has been releasing since OOTB.
Album sales were never Katy's forte but with hardwork and good marketing strategy everything is possible.
