Just watched the underrated masterpiece Marry the Night.
I don't understand the hate the music video gets: it really made MTN one of my favorite Gaga songs. It's got a great sense of humor (the bedazzler line) and people who call it pretentious really miss the point. It's her most honest and real music video; the opening monologue points out how it's meant to be stylized. Forget ARTPOP, this is where she actually nailed "fantasy vs reality" with the whirring film projector being heard in the background at all times.
There are questionable decisions, like having a lot of the video be made up of the dance studio scene, but the explosion of cuts at the end just matches the energy of the song so perfectly
You really get a sense of how down in the dumps Gaga was and then she became queen of the ****ing world. If that's not inspirational I don't know what is. Always chills at the phoenix scene at the end.
