It's an amazing song, If Gaga had recorded it, which she wouldn't she writes all her own music, it would sound very different, they have different distinct styles. And this isn't the sort of song Gaga would write, IMO her music has a certain edge to it that this song, while beautiful and a favourite of mine at the moment, doesn't have.
But a good song is a good song no matter what talented artist has it. I think it would be more popular purely because Gaga is riding high at the moment and Christina took a break for a while to raise her son, which she completely deserved.
