I'm literally so emotional right now for the last scene I posted in my entry. LIKE LITERALLY, YOU DON'T ALWAYS HAVE THE CHANCE TO APPRECIATE LIFE AS IT IS, BUT WHEN YOU DO IT'S CRAZY.
I wrote like 3 entries. Redid the first one though, you got it now.
Let me tell you, if I get eliminated this round, after writing 3 entries, I'll be more than a little sad.
The judges will receive a pm from me with further instructions.
The contestants should discuss the entries in this thread.
FOR THE JUDGES DEADLINE: Saturday, December 6th 4pm EST

Dimensional, fascinating, compelling, believable. Tony Soprano is the reason TV today exists as we know it. There would be no Heisenberg, no Dexter, no Don without the Mafia Boss who appeared on the actual iconic and influential show 'The Sopranos'.
I could write a dissertation about him and analyze every one of his actions throughout all episodes but to try and cut it shorter: Why has he always been my favorite tv character?
To this day I have not seen a character study on TV as well developed and deeply carved out as when we observed and analysed the motivations of this anti-hero. Taking someone who should be an antagonist and making him the protagonist was new for TV at that time... but it worked. Why?
Tony Soprano is evil, there's no doubt about that. But despite his activities as a mafia boss there is more to him. He is a father and a husband who passionately cared about his family, a friend who would and does go over dead bodies for the closest of him and someone who has an extreme empathy for animals. He may cheat, but he's devoted and respectful to his wife and children. He may rob and murder people but he also puts a big emphasis on honor and loyalty. He's contradictory, just as you and I.
“I got the world by the balls and yet I can’t stop feeling that I am a loser.”
And even though he always hides behind money and sex, he is extremely self-aware about his desires, fears, wishes and feelings. He knows who and what he is but he's at a constant inner confllict about what he wants to be, or whether he truly wants to change at all. He loves his mistresses but he doesn't want to lose his wife. He loves being dominant and in control, not being questioned but he fears for his children becoming like him.
In the end, Tony Soprano mirrors all of us. Granted, we might not be mafia bosses or act out our dark side as he does... but we do have one. We sympathized with him because we saw our own fears and desires represented by him. We saw ourselves. On top of that comes just how extremely fascinated I am by his character. I still re-watch certain episodes just to keep analyzing him. That is why he still is and most likely forever will be my favorite tv personality of all time.

The purpose of television is to provide viewers with an escape from the stress of day to day life - to allow us to turn off our brains momentarily, veg out, and to just enjoy. Yes, the purpose of TV is to provide mindless entertainment. And in my honest opinion, there is nobody on TV more equally mindless AND entertaining than the one, the only...
Who is it?
Tyra Banks.
As a long time viewer of America's Next Top Model, I've always been entertained/intrigued/confused by the downright bizarre antics of Ms. Banks. Now I know what some of you are thinking - "The challenge said CHARACTER! Tyra isn't a character! She's real!" - but, I'd argue (and I'm sure most ANTM viewers would agree) that Tyra is, in every sense of the word, an absolute character. It's like she's playing a heightened version of herself; a nuttier, goofier, stranger, more over the top Tyra - not that it takes a lot. Watching Tyra on ANTM is like watching a bit of a trainwreck, and I love every second of it. There's been Fashion Robots!, All of the accents!, and Whatever this is!. It's as though the show runners have just thrown their hands in the air and given COMPLETE creative control to Tyra. Her antics are just getting stranger and stranger and it seems as though Tyra has nobody around her to be like "Umm...I don't know about this...". As a result, Tyra has served us many iconic TV moments -
from the time she "fainted":
to the MOST legendary meltdown:
to my personal favourite, whatever the eff she was trying to make happen with "pot ledom"
(seriously Tyra, WHAT? I'm still scratching my head...):
For these reasons (and more! Literally, I could think of 800 more wacky Tyra moments I love from ANTM), Ms. Banks is by far my favourite TV personality for the sheer entertainment (and "WTF?") factor of it all.
Thank you for reading.

Roger (American Dad)
Seth Macfarlane is known for making hilarious characters over the years, but one that definitely stands out is Roger Smith. Undoubtedly the breakout character from American Dad, what makes him my favorite character on TV at the moment is his humorous and sassy personality, as well as his millions and millions of alter egos. The alter egos are the best part about his character, really. You'll never know what character he's going to be, and his personality changes from episode to episode depending on the character that he's pretending to be (but he always remains sassy and funny). He can be completely evil in one episode, he can be charitable, affectionate, messy, etc. His alter egos have become a running gag throughout the show, yet they never get old. Aside from his alter egos though, another thing that makes me love Roger's character are his golden lines. Whenever he appears, he just instantly steals the show with his snarky remarks and his kii-worthy shade, it's just hilarious His moments never fail to put a smile on my face, and they never fail to brighten up my day.
As for my favorite scene, there's too many, but here's a good one:

Ever since she came across my TV screen in 2006, she has captivated my attention. She brings the drama and entertainment like no other, hence why she is the queen of VH1 and reality TV. You can say her attitude and dramatics rubbed off on me a little bit, hence part of the reason why I’m a sassy little gay. Plus, her dramatics and quotes are funny as hell. ["You look like a fairy princess...that resides over the pits of Hell."
"Shut your mouth, and read the damn magazine girl."
"BEYONCE, BEYONCE, BEYONCE, you know who you look like? You look like ****ing Luther Vandross."
"Shut the **** up with your weak ass, ass bitch."
"You hatin ass bitch, all fradulent. Take your shoes off, your lucky the **** didn't hit me bitch."
"I just want to say that I look fabulous, I feel fabulous..."
"Which wall do you want to get backed up into, *kicks foot* BOOTZ. Which wall? Pick a wall.."]
She truly didn't give ANY ****s and kept the girls seething. Even if you hate her, you know you find her entertaining. She made Flavor of Love and VH1 what it is, hence why she is the only one who got spin-off shows and eventually got real acting gigs. Unlike some of the other pressed girls who got knocked up, locked up, and are twerking on Instagram and clubs for coins.

If I had to sum it up in one sentence, Olivia Pope is a BEAST. A little bit of background information on Olivia Pope: In the hit ABC Series, Scandal, She is in the field of Crisis Management. Her profession revolves around taking other people issues, and "fixing" them. She has connections all over the world, and has the power to manipulate any situation, any way she wants to. Behind her, is her team, the "Gladiators," that aid her in being able to have these situations play out the way they need to for her clients. When ever she gets a call for a new assignment, her famous line to let you know it's taken care of, "It's Handled." In the past, she had a career at the White House, in which she fell in love with the President. Why she's my favorite TV Personality? Like I stated before, Olivia is a beast. She is nothing but pure independence. Even though she has a team, she could do everything by herself. I tend to feel an emotional connection with individuals that have no problem doing what they need to do to get something done. In addition to being independent, Olivia is very resourceful. She knows what connections she needs to have in place to make sure she can be the best at her job, she's hard-working, dependable, and provides results. Overall, she's a great role model, that anyone could look up to. The video below is easily one of my favorite scenes. Olivia called the new Vice President candidate into a meeting to lie down his two options after recently discovering that the first lady was having an affair with him. Watch below to see what she gave him.

Tasha Fox – Survivor: Cagayan
Tasha Fox was a contestant on the 28th season of Survivor, located in Cagayan, Philippines. At the beginning of each season, someone stands out to me as a contestant, and they become my favorite! Tasha was immediately my favorite when the season started, and I was rooting for her to win since the start. Many other viewers felt the same, and she was a fan favorite during the season! She had spunk, sass, and a smile that shined extremely bright. Her aura was one of positivity, even in negative circumstances, and her attitude always came through as confident, kind, and determined. I loved her personality and enthusiasm, and I was always excited to see her actions week after week! In addition, Tasha is a certified public accountant, which is a career path I am currently considering, so I identified with her in that way.
To see how she did in the competition, unless you don’t want to spoil yourself, click below:
Spoilers about the show!
The theme for this season of Survivor was Brains vs. Beauty vs. Brawns, and Tasha, an accountant, was put on the Brains tribe. She honestly represented all three of those qualities really well, however. The Brains tribe ended up being a disaster, having to vote off multiple members in the first few episodes, but Tasha remained at the center of the tribe, as a friendly, likable contestant with plenty of potential in the game. At the top 11, another contestant flipped, and Tasha ended up in the minority alliance. It looked like she was going to be eliminated shortly thereafter, but suddenly, she took this situation and turned it into three consecutive immunity challenge victories. She remained in an alliance of two with another fan favorite, and they successfully flipped the vote onto other targets. However, after her immunity run, she was voted off the first time she lost a challenge. She came in 6th place, but left with a smile.
This video is a great intro to Tasha, and is what made that positive first impression on me! I hope she gets invited back for a future season!
Like always, first a quote, this time from the amazing Amanda Tanen (Ugly Betty).
Quote:
Babies are the hot accessory in the gay world. Small dogs, totally five minutes ago.
Introducing... the amazing, wonderful and fabulous Amanda Tanen, from Ugly Betty (2006). If you need to see what she looks like, I used gif's in light of our latest challenge. Scroll down.
The two reasons I love Amanda from Ugly Betty:
THE CHARACTER
a. She's a skinny girl that loves to eat. That's me. Except for the skinny part (jk). And the girl part. Apart from that, she's me, I'm her. So this is me stress eating. (scene #1) b. She's not particularly smart, but she's got amazing insight. Sometimes. Also, she's superficial, but at the same time (ugly) Betty is her best friend, apart from Marc (the fabulous other best friend). Amanda (or Mandy, as some like to call her) is full of paradoxes. Just like all of our lives. c. She is someone who lives for fame. Hell, I want my 15 minutes of fame. It's never going to happen though; I can't sing nor dance. I guess we all need to feel loved though; we all need to feel important. Ain't that what fame is all about. I need love, and so do pretty girls. Unfortunately, her 'Milkshake' performance (scene #2) did not make poor Mandy famous. I lol'd though. d. She's just a girl looking for her dad, not sugar daddy, like most skinny, superficial girls. Not that a sugar daddy wouldn't come in handy, considering Mandy's credit cards are usually all declined. But that's what you get when you spend too much money, something I, unfortunately, am all too familiar with. But to get back to the point I was trying to make: she's a girl looking for her dad, a girl without her family. She's got problems, which makes her relatable. e. She stands out by being funny. Which is kind of what I am trynna accomplish here - in this "paragraph".
THE ACTRESS
I'll be short here, because well... this is my second paragraph. a. Becki Newton's got impeccable comic timing. Her acting is always on point, and she's always funny. b. The actress knows how to sell the role. She makes Mandy a character instead of a caraciture. Kudos to Becki.
And this is Amanda, folks:

Episode 5: The One With The TV Personality
Lynette Scavo: Mother, Wife, Hero, Survivor.
The character that I chose is Lynette Scavo played by the amazing Felicity Huffman. This role brought her an Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2005 and several Golden Glone nominations. The role was met with critical acclaim by the critics.
Why is she my favorite TV personality, you ask?
Simply because she's the perfect woman. She makes mistakes, she fix them up. She's the perfect mother and she's doing everything for her kids. She's the perfect wife, even if she has her moments, she doesn't let go to her love for her husband.
What impressed me the most is her courage, mostly when she battles cancer, she doesn't want to be seen as a weak person, but a a fighter and in the end as a survivor.
She has such a strong personality and a strong character. In my opinion she is a perfect feminist for all the examples that she is setting.
All these traits, and many others that I don't really have the space to write right now + the perfect acting of Felicty Huffman really gave life to if not the, one of the greatest TV characters ever.
And mostly, she's insanely relatable.
To quote Mary Alice Young in the pilot of the series:
Quote:
She used to see herself as a career woman. And a hugely successful one at that. She was known for her power lunches, her eye-catching presentations and her ruthlessness in wiping out the competition. Lynette gave up her career to assume a new label: the incredibly satisfying role of full-time mother.
My favorite scenes, among others, are:

SAMANTHA JONES
SEX AND THE CITY
Samantha Jones (played by Kim Cattrall who is actually English like myself) is undoubtedly my favourite TV (and movie) character of all time, literally.
Firstly, I wanted to move away from any characters that ‘reflect’, or ‘mirror’ and ‘portray’ exactly the feelings or type of person I am. I believed that was a cliché from the start and is an easy write up, and in all genuineness, the best characters are the funniest; not the most relatable.
Back to Samantha, she is the Queen of liberation. Not only is it refreshing to see such a dominant female character presented as such a sexually liberated individual (which we all know is atypical for woman due to gender biases and presumptions – a quote from Samantha herself ‘she has sex like a man’), but also that it is presented laudatory. At no point does Samantha come of tarty or a bit of a prostitute. Despite probably having the greatest number of sex on a TV program with different people, her unfavourable outlook to monogamous relationships is in her stride as she is also funny with it.
As previously mentioned, her bold sexual nature is what I love about her but also coupled with her humour. Her sexual humour is second to none. These jokes, particularly her one liners, stem from the endless wisdom she has on the topics of life, love and sex. My favourite referring to the concept of giving a male pleasure by using your mouth, she explains the procedure of a blowjob as longwinded and finally states ‘honey, it’s not called a “job” for no reason’. In addition, her fashion is on point, and is another reason I love her character as she’s daring to wear whatever she wants despite her age, which is good for her because she looks amazing for her age (another reason why I love her).
But finally, despite the three qualities that make the typical Samantha, she has also had some real depth in her to ensure her character isn’t just a fake, over-the-top persona. She has had a couple ‘longer’ relationships and had hardships such as breast cancer. But the combination of everything from her promiscuity (tri-sexuality, aka try everything once) to her amazing storylines and brilliant acting just makes the character of Samantha not only one of the liveliest but most entertaining characters of all time from my point of view.
I couldn't find a good youtube video and she has millions of highlights so here is a compilation one. You needn't watch all of it. A few here and there will show you how funny she is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgHpCgDsDO4
