"Phillip Phillips's "Gone, Gone, Gone" tops the 2 million mark in digital sales this week. .
"Home," his American Idol coronation song, has sold 5,099,000 copies, more than any song by an Idol alum. Phillips is just the fifth Idol contestant to release two songs that each sold 2 million copies. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have each hit that sales threshold with four songs. Daughtry and Jordin Sparks have also each done it with two.
Phillips' achievement is all the more impressive because Idol isn't remotely the powerhouse it was in its early seasons. Clarkson, Underwood, Daughtry and Sparks all appeared in the show's first six seasons."
