I predicted the worst all along. I was totally prepared for this.
From early on, The Voice managed to find a somewhat loyal audience. X Factor wasn't able to do that. Simon has put success or failure of season two on Britney's shoulders, and while I'm sure these aren't the miracle numbers he hoped for, this audience, unremarkable as it may be, exists largely (if not soley) because of Britney. I'd really hate to see how they would have done without Britney.
And that's really what it boils down to; if 12 people watch The X Factor, they do so because they're interested in Britney Spears. If 12 people watch The Voice, they do so because they're fans of the format. Aguilera herself hasn't much drawing power, so I wouldn't gloat, Aguilera fans.
That's really depressing, because it definitely shows "The Voice" cockblock worked. Risky, but paid off - as a fan of competition and cut-throat tactics, NBC should be commended for being ballsy. As a Britney stan, I hope they burn in hell and I'll never watch that channel until Britney's off the X-Factor.
Good sign that TXF went up to 10 million, but that sucks it was during the second hour because I definitely think the first hour was stronger.
to the voice they're plan actually worked. I know how to recognize and they did a really smart decision doing that tbh. I know ratings will improve eventually.
