Single: Pitbull f/ Shakira - "Get It Started"

As I was saying in th other thread
Honestly, I'm starting to find myself getting very disappointed in Shakira. And this is coming from a super-fan.
And no, I'm really not one of these broken records about Shakira's initial crossover. I've loved Shakira so much, and every time she's done something not ideal, I've found myself sticking up for her, but I'm sick of doing that anymore. I've honestly felt like ever since the Sale El Sol era in general, Shakira has just become so slack.
I just don't see a DRIVE in her anymore. When she came out in 2001 with Whenever WHerever/Laundry Service, she was SO FIERCE in everything. In 2005 she came back strong with La Tortura and even when Don't Bother failed to make an impact, she came back harder with Hips Don't Lie and ruled the world. With She Wolfs failure she came back harder with Waka Waka, but ever since Sale El Sol everything she has done has been subpar.
When I initially heard th news about Get it Started I was so excited, and when I heard the song I loved it. I was thinking, Shakira is finally getting her drive back to rebuild her place in the business. But the impression I'm getting is anything but that. She pays NO attention to her own career. It's almost as if Music is now not her career. I mean, if she straight out said that she's just not as interested, I would be much more satisfied. She doesn't push her own music, puts no effort into driving it, and god damn it, I get super frustrated when people say "It's not Shakiar's single, it's pit bull's job to promote it".
Umm, no. it's still Shakira's song. And she obviously participated and shot the video with th intention of it becoming a wel-recognised worldwide single, and yet she does nothing to do it.
Shakira has almost started to give off this diva vibe, something which she never used to have.
she seriously places NO effort into her looks anymore. And I'm not one of those people who prefer her with eyeliner. She looked lovely even with a simple look in the 2005-2006 eras
but now she just looks scrappy. I'm not sure at all what's going on with her hair and her eye makeup is totally wrong which makes her eyebrows stand out.
I'm just so disappointed and over this Shakira. Yep sure sure I'm going to look like that classic whining Shakira fan who looks like he is never satisfied and always wants more. Well you know what? Yes I probably am, and I make no apologies for that, being a Shakira fan. I honestly don't know where the pre-2010 Shakira has gone.
I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. But at the moment this is the vibe I'm getting. And I make no apologies for stating my opinion.

I think that if Shakira wants to compete with the other Pop girls, she needs to step up her game. She's doing the opposite. She's dropping her guard. It really looks as if she just woke up, put a wig on, and did her portion of the video as quickly as possible before jetting off to play with whales with her boyfriend.
The Pop world is tough and nobody is going to fall for Shakira being sloppy and thinking she can smile to compensate for everything.
I don't think she has developed a "diva" attitude. I just think she's not trying very hard anymore in terms of videos and performances. She is just being very casual about her music career.

Its what made me fall in love with her though.  but yes she needs to werq. Im tired of her repeat basic dance-performances. She even uses the same dress for a performance in different countries. LAZY. She is an internet queen but doesnt seem to realize people have access to that youtube.

Exactly, it bothers me when Shakira is obviously wanting to achieve more success, especially with the direction her new music is taking, and yet puts no effort into presenting it.
She has let herself fade away too much, and is putting in no work into rebuilding her image. No one really cares for her anymore unfortunately. People are obviously still interested in what she puts out - as seen in ATY video views. But she does NOTHING to help herself.
And it's just annoying hearing some fans constantly defend her. I personally am tired of defending her myself when she's dropped to this level.
I know she hasn't, but she is starting to build that reputation, amongst her fans at least. I don't think I've heard her speaking in an interview in at least a year.

First and foremost this video was effin atrocious!!!!!!!! WTF!! I'm very dissapointed in both Pitbull and Shakira, they have done 3 songs together and none have hit. Did it Again was pure magic, Rabiosa I love by default only because I learned to dance merengue before I learned to walk. Get it Started is a good song but it lacks that luster. Even Fergie's Feel Alive ft. Pitbull is waaaaaaay better!
I completely agree with the quoted member, I've been a Shakira fan since Selena croaked. There came a point were I belived that I would always love Shakiras music even if she farted in the middle of the song. But now, there is no will in her music she seems more concentrated in her philanthropic work which is not bad, but it is taking WAAAAAY to big of a toll in her musical career. My tolerance for her nasty ass extensions is dwindling, I want to write her and offer free hair and make up services, she needs help and I don't think she realizes it.

Hasn't Shakira already recorded her own new music video? Why would she waste performances for Pitbull's single when she will need them for her own single soon? I mean yes, some promo would surely help Get It Started, but I am sure Shakira is busy with all the process that leads up to releasing the album.

I love mi Shaki to death but i get the feeling her singing career is not her priority. Idk why. She is big WW but she could be BIGGER. I'm hoping this will be the smash she needs and that the US will support her. But she needs to stay here and commit.

She's really becoming sloppy in everything she does, especially in presentation. It's like she has forgotten what it means to be a Pop star, even though she's trying to get Pop hits.
I mean, this accompanied a recent article on Allure Magazine titled "Shakira Shares Her Summer Beauty Secrets." LOL
What secrets? Put on a wig, throw on a jacket, and call it a day? It's as if within the past year or so she has forgotten how to brush her hair.

I heard this song on the disco yesterday, I almost cried.
Gerls yall need to quit dramas. Shakira is pregnant, in a new relationship and living a little bit, she has been on tour, launching albums since 2009. It's 2012, give her a break! She is going to live a little, I know, Im not here for the new album without promo BUT, so what? Get used to it gerls, she is happy with her life, let's wait, she'll come back better than ever. Remembr I'm a Britney stan as well, and I've been through the same.
She will NEVER disappoint me, at least she keeps on giving us new music while being pregnant, how sweet!

Babe I met Shakira in the end of June. I shoot her new video with her and I could see that baby belly perfectly. Unless she got fat and all of the food she ate went to the inferior part of her belly, she isnt pregnant, otherwise she, most likely, is.
I'd be shocked if she wasnt.
