I think it's just a way for them to be like " stop criticize Israel, look what they're doing". It's a shame people feel the need to point the finger elsewhere to try and justify what is happening.

How does that come into this debate though? The poster was claiming they are hypocrites for protesting israel and not syria, which was a lie, many have the ability to protest all these issues and more.
The user I was responding to was saying that Gaza only fires rockets in response to acts of VIOLENCE from Israel. When I say "nothing", I mean that Gaza continues to fire rockets at Israel even when Israel goes long periods of time without being violent to Gaza.
What I find extremely confusing is people think that a ground invasion to destroy missiles being targeted at civilians is "disproportionate" to firing thousands of missiles intended to kill civilians, yet firing thousands of missiles intended to kill civilians is totally fine and not at all disproportionate to Israel claiming some land.
For the record - I am NOT in support of Israel's occupation of the West Bank. All I'm saying is the disproportionality arguments needs to follow through. If Israel's current response to Palestine is disproportionate, then so is Palestine's missiles in the first place.
Also, I find it very hard to sympathize with Gaza regarding the starvation, water, etc. when they were given millions of dollars back around a decade ago to make Gaza a better place for civilians, and instead of using that money to do that, they used it all to build tunnels and rockets...

And what I find confusing are the claims that Israel invading another country is alright, and that they doing it to destroy the missiles which arent doing any damage anyway. They could easily let Palestinians to waste them, but no, and instead invaded Gaza and are responsible for 1000 of civilians deaths, what will cause even more hatred and extremism.
Im not saying that what Hamas is doing is acceptable, but when you are under oppression for as long as they are, then you become either apathetic and surrender, or continue to desperately fight for freedom and risk everything even if the chances for success are futile. Desperate people are doing desperate things. But they wouldnt be in this situation without Israels oppression.

And here we go again with the "let's blame Israel for choosing to defend its own people". The missiles aren't causing any damage because Israel developed technology to make sure they don't cause damage. Hamas also got money a few years ago that they could have used for defense. But do you know what they used it for? MORE MISSILES. Saying that the missiles haven't caused that much damage isn't a point in Gaza's favour when Hamas's GOAL is to cause damage and they're only failing because Israel chose to protect its citizens, unlike Hamas.

When they respong to a Israeli attack. When Israel randomly bombs Gaza and kills on average 6 people no one even blinks here in the media, but when Hamas responds with a rocket or two all your media goes "oh look theyre ATTACKING US FOR NO REASON when will this stop we must kill these terrorists", it happens weekly with not one single newspaper or radio or channel saying the truth that it was a response. Yes the Hamas sometimes shoots rockets into Israel, BUT ITS EXTREMELY RARE , and not daily as your lying ass trying to claim. The missiles didnt do any damage BECAUSE IT WAST DEVELOPED ENOUGH to do an actual damage like the Israeli army does, they dont use white Phosphorus for example which is considered a war crime but the U.S is in Israels back no matter what but she doesnt get any punishment for it, "they were just defending themselves",when Israel assassinated a Hamas leader and killed many Palestinians and Hamas wanted to revenge and shot countless missiles on Israel and some reaching Tel-Aviv, the heart of Israel, the whole country went ******* after everyone saw how undeveloped the Iron Domes were and how it couldnt stop even half of the missiles, and you started saying it was for nothing. Yeah. Sure. And as for the money, yes, Hamas was using SOME of it to build missiles and b tunnels, but NOT ALL of them like you claim. Noone is ignoring radical islamists and the crimes and atrocities they do to people and their/our cultural heritage. What they are doing in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Nigeria, Somalia etc. is disgusting. But this thread is about Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Im sure most of people here are at least as concerned about it as you are, but sometimes its just hard to find the right words, just like it was for me when I saw the images of Tomb of Jonah destroyed, or the loothings in Egyptian museums and archaeological sites, not to mention Palmyra, Damascus, Aleppo and countless other sites in Syria etc., but also to many monuments in the Gaza Strip which are being damaged and endangered by Israels bombing. I cant overcome the sickness, bitterness and sadness which I felt when I saw the damage done, but words cant really express it.
It would be interesting , IMO, if someone would even the playing field. If china or Russia were to start arming the Palestinians with advanced weapons, I wonder whether Israel would still fire away so carelessly at civilians.m
