#35 - WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL
Average: 8.0278 - Highest: 10 (x8), Lowest: 3 (x1)
Writers: Madonna, Guy Sigsworth, David Torn
Producers: Madonna, Guy Sigsworth, Mark "Spike" Stent
"What It Feels Like For a Girl" deals with the way women are supposed to behave and how much they often have to hide for the society. It uses a spoken introduction by Charlotte Gainsbourg, taken from the film Cement Garden.
It was released as the third single off Music and it did pretty well wordwide, although it peaked at #23 in the US. In the UK it reached #7.
I might be wrong, but I think she only performed it live at the Drowned World Tour, in its Spanish version - Lo Que Siente La Mujer.
The video was directed by her then-husband, Guy Ritchie, and it uses the Above & Beyond remix of the song. It features Madonna riding in a car with an old lady (God knows why) and doing some not-so-girlish stuff around the town. It's really amazing.
This song is such a cool, chill-out and calm jam. 8.5, very deserved.

This is it for tonight, thanks for everyone who watched!
I'm thinking of pushing it all the way to the Top 20 tomorrow. So that would be... #34 - #21. What do you think?

You forgot to mention that it was banned! Only the second Madonna video to be banned. She's had three in total, right?

Oooh, yes, that's right - due to the amount of graphic violence. I think there were three, indeed - "Justify My Love" first, then "Erotica", then this one.
"American Life" could be a fourth - she "banned" it herself.

You guys. Human Nature is still here.
Erotica is still here.
Rain and Justify My Love are still here.
Most of Ray of Light is still here.
Um, what?

I know, right? Madonna's 80's stuff is up there with The Beatles catalogue. Flawless melodic perfection. Her edgier stuff is good, but overrated and inconsistent.

Three top five hits, guaranteed. What kind of ****up?

I agree. I love that song too, but her label was pushing for "Don't Stop"

Definitely
80's > 00's >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 90's
90's were horrible, I mean Erotica And than she released one boring ballad after the other Evita
If you remove her singles from Rescue Me to Another Suitcase in Another Hall, her singles discography would be flawless

I've always found WIFLFAG (kiii) massively overrated. Kanye shrug.
I'm also surprised Jump is this popular, I always thought it was the weakest single off Confessions by leaps and bounds.

When is "Rain" leaving? It should have been the first to go.

So you would remove Erotica, Deeper and Deeper, Bad Girl, Rain, I'll Remember, Secret, Take a Bow, Bedtime Story and Human Nature?

"Jump" is the best single off Confessions and one of my all-time favorite Madonna songs.
I think the weakest is Get Together, although many people love it.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree.
And **** just got real - in our next update we'll have to get rid of many, many good songs.

#34 - NOTHING FAILS
Average: 8.0278 - Highest: 10 (x10) - Lowest: 3 (x1)
Writers: Madonna, Guy Sigsworth, Jem Griffiths
Producers: Madonna, Mirwais Ahmadzaï, Mark "Spike" Stent
"Nothing Fails" started as a song called "Silly Thing" that Guy Sigsworth was writing for his wife. It was shown to Madonna later - she loved it and added/changed some things to it. It features a choir at the end.
It was released as a double A-side with "Love Profusion" in some countries, where it was not really successful. However, it reached #1 in Spain. Damn, Spain must stan hard for that woman.
She performed it live with a choir in an MTV special for the release of American Life (it's very worth the watch) and in the Re-Invention Tour.
No video was recorded for it.
All I have to say about this song leaving right now is FINALLY! Should've been kicked a long time ago. 6 from me...

Nothing Fails would be perfect if it weren't for the "I'm not religious" line, that line is so tacky.
