The difference is Rihanna is complacent with having everything mapped out for her. The label says "do this" and she just complies. Its like she doesnt even open her mouth to say "how about if I do it like this instead of that?"
Real artists are passionate and fight with their labels. Real artists have a voice beyond a social network.
That's ANOTHER reason Rihanna will never make ICON status.
She's had people writing for her for the last 5 albums and she's yet to surprise people with anything she's written on her own. You would think by now she'd be putting some kind of personal touch on her albums.
At the end of the day... the Music business is a business. GaGa & Beyonce would be the over achieving hard workers... Rihanna would be that girl that looks good and gets by just because.
